At a recent comic con, this permanent A+ list celebrity/writer/creator was basically signing an X in lieu of his name and also disappointing hundreds of fans by leaving early or not able to make it to his assigned time at all. The thing is though, his handlers are trying to make as much cash from him as they can before he passes so keep trotting him out to these events.

ReplyDeleteHis ex manager is being investigated for that West Hollywoodo condo purchase and for other alleged money thefts. His daughter got rid of the Con artist and initiated the investigation. I would never leave my elderly parents in the care of strangers. Sometimes there is no choice and siblings usually try to cheat each other. It happens all the time.

Stan cancelled his appearance at the con I went to a couple of weeks ago. I'd rather he skip things and prolong his health.

@ Brayson87 and @ Sd Auntie -- this is a nice revelation to see. I saw Stan's video on IG, and while his voice is shaky (moreso I think, but that's the conspiracy nut in me), he IS 95 after all, it still felt a little stilted or staged. It's so hard to get shit straight these days, what's fake news and what's the truth, and what's fake about someone's version of the truth...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see the investigation is making headlines. Elder abuse has many forms, not just physical or mental abuse, but fiduciary as well!
I moved my grandmother in with me, and dared anyone to think about 'putting her in a home'. She and my father both have passed, and now my mother lives with me. One great thing about being an only child of an only child parent - no one is going to railroad either of us. Not that it wouldn't be much for an outside party to come in, claim malfeasance against me, and take custodianship as a Third Party.
ANYway, I'm glad to see Stan Lee is cleaning house and has a loving support system behind him.

You are absolutely correct.
People suffering from dementia do act out sexually. Sex is the most basic human drive, people will postpone food & water to have that need fulfilled. Not only that, the people may truly want affection instead of sex but they are so far gone they have no other way to communicate this.
Don't count on Stan's daughter helping him out - she's more nuts than he is.

They were not just fans...they were friends.
I just read an extensive story from The Hollywood Reporter about Stan Lee's situation. Seems like everyone in his life is taking advantage of him in some way or another, especially his daughter. It's been reported that she's been physically and verbally abusive to both Stan and his late wife. She's possibly mentally ill and spoiled on top of that. She allegedly blows through $40k a month in credit card bills alone.
