Five For Friday - A Broken Soul - A Himmmm Blind Item

This (foreign born A+ list singer) has always seemed like she's been on the edge of disaster ever since her career began. From the stunts she's created; to her public drug use; to her conflicts with other celebrities – she's always tried to stir up controversy.  But her personal life is even far more dangerous than her public persona.  The affairs; the hard drug use; and even doing extreme tricks to satisfy some void in her soul has led many to wonder if something is really wrong inside her mind.  Sadly, it is.  It took less than 24 hours to uncover this the last time we visited her in her home country. The singer's poor rags-to-riches tale is no secret.  But what's been kept (mostly) quiet is what she was forced into from an early age.  We'd always heard the rumors, but hearing it from her was shocking.

While her mother worked taking care of upscale resorts, the young girl was put to work taking care of upscale guests at those same resorts.  It's a service that's been available there for generations.  Any men, usually white and wealthy, who wanted "company" of a woman or girl only had to ask the valet.  The payment was always cash, with a tip to the valet who would pair up the girls with guests based on their requests. Male or female guests, or couples.  The head valet during the singer's era there was also the local police Chief's brother.  Most of the children of the staff were put to work doing this and the average age of the prostitutes are around 14 years old.

It's no cult or international trafficking ring – just sadly typical third world prostitution.  The local government there cares less, and considers it (unofficially) as part of the tourist trade/service industry.  They say it brings income in to poor shanty-living families with few options.  When told of other options, they say the families and girls involved would rather work an hour to make what they'd earn a week or more in legit work.  And if you ask too many questions or piss off the government or cops? You'll find yourself quickly in trouble, or even locked up for a petty charge to remind you you're not in the USA anymore.

Our singer began when she was just 12 years-old.  She was the most popular girl available in her time there.  A beautiful girl who knew how to charm and perform for the guests, she would sing in the hotel bars for tourists by day – and have "dates" with the men at night.  One date earned her more than a month of singing for tips.  She soon made more than anyone in her family.  Two very famous and wealthy men in particular were among her customers.  This (record label owner) was her best customer, and this (foreign born very rich married A list celebrity/mogul) was one she felt a special love for who always treated her "like a princess"; buying her gifts and new clothes.  She says she was no virgin when she began her work.  One retired U.N. official (who she refused to name) was violent and very abusive to her.  During her "dates" with these men – which were actually rapes of a tween girl no matter how it's justified – she would sing for them and perform.  They both had a big behind the scenes role in bringing her overseas to start her career.  One of them even got her booked on a popular back in the day reality show to legitimize a story of how she was "discovered".

The PR story in all her biographies and articles are total lies.  Thing is? The singer doesn't deny nor hide from the truth.  She shrugs it off saying that "it's better than cleaning rich people's toilets for little pay, and look at what I got for it. I don't hate my mother for this".  And never blames her family for selling her into child prostitution.  But not all her customers were so benevolent as to buy her gifts and get her career started.  Some used her, physically abused her, and scarred her emotionally for life.  Which is why she says she always feels incomplete.  "Like I got an itch I can't scratch".  No matter how much drugs, drinking, or dangerous sex she pursues…she's never "satisfied".  When told that's a recipe for a very bad ending to her life, and that there's healthy ways to fill that void, she laughed.  "I always know since I'm little that I will never grow old. Least I can do it myself and not be a victim to anyone else. I'm going to die and I do it my way." (Her exact words).  By the time she finished that sentence, she was staring across the water and had tears running down her cheeks.

She says she feels doomed no matter what she does, which is why she refuses help – including the help we offered her.  How do we know all this? She's making a very private documentary telling the truth of her entire life, that she wants released only when she dies.  She showed us the tapes and explained it to us herself.  She says she figures everyone knows the truth anyway, and that she'll never be anything but "a whore".  "I was (permanent A+ list rapper) whore, the record company whore, I've been everybody's whore. So I will be my own whore and you can tell the world why after I'm gone".

She says she still cares for those two old, rich men who were good to her and doesn't want them harmed – which is why she won't let it go public until she's gone.  It's so tragic, heartbreaking, and hopefully she'll accept the many offers of no-strings-help we and others have extended to her.  If not? Even she doesn't think she'll be around in another couple of years. Tragic, but that's what she sees as her destiny.  A child who was forced into something and used her entire life by others.  A broken soul.

  11. :( This is so sad. I really hope she can get better - I know all indications here are that she has tried and that help is either not working or is not what she wants, but anybody deserves a better future than this. I do picture Rihanna, with Jay Z as the A-list rapper and then Richard Branson as the foreign-born celebrity/mogul (reference to "virgin" in the very next line).

But she was protected by a POWERFUL DRUG DEALER, she ows her beginning to him and to a famous polititian s BROTHER

But to be honest as a singer and personal life she was very steady making her only big mistake BY LIVING WITH ANTONIO DE LA RUA ...

He s a good for nothing, son of a former president from argentina

Actually he became famous when he was tape recorded THAT HIS DAD COULD BUY THEM THEIR UNIVERISTY DEGREES JUST BY A PHONE CALL ...

  21. I think this might be Iggy Azalea

"Amethyst Amelia Kelly was born in Sydney and brought up in Mullumbimby, New South Wales. Her father, Brendan Kelly, was a European-Australian painter and comic artist,
while her mother, Tanya, cleaned holiday houses and hotels. Azalea lived in a house that her father built by hand from mud-bricks, surrounded by 5 hectares (12 acres) of land"

"In pursuit of her desire to move to America, Azalea dropped out of high school. She worked and saved the money she earned by cleaning hotel rooms and holiday houses with her mother."

  26. I am absolutely crestfallen if this is Riri. I have always thought she was stunning, talented, charismatic, and fierce, yet manages to stay real and genuine. She can sing, act, and build powerful makeup empires. She has so much going for her and it's so upsetting to think her childhood has scarred her in such a way that she wants to die young. Ri - if you are reading this, please don't leave us too soon. We love you, your music, and everything your beautiful soul stands for.

  27. Unfortunately, I think this is Riri. The last few sentences have the words 'destiny' and 'child' in them. A hint to Beyonce, which obviously ties back to Jay-Z.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If this is Rihanna. Then why does Beyoncé hate her so much when her husband had a hand in what Rihanna is today, publicly and privately.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Do you guys think the sentence " They both had a big behind the scenes role in bringing her overseas..." holds a clue? Perhaps "big behind" = Iggy?

    ReplyDelete
  30. It just seems like Rhianna always has so much going for her, she never stops winning. While Iggy is indisputably a personal and professional failure.

Also, when Chris Brown beat up Rhianna, she went to the police. Someone so used to being used and beat around would have, I feel, not acted in an empowered way like she did/does. Iggy, on the other hand, oozes low self-esteem and desperation.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Rihanna doesn't really seem to fit. What reality show was she on which showed how she was discovered?

I can't see Iggy fitting either, she is a rapper, not a singer. Unless Himmmm is fudging that part on purpose?

  32. Rhianna =(

She was discovered in her home country of Barbados by American record producer Evan Rogers. Without a name or any material, the girl group managed to land an audition with Rogers who commented, "The minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn't exist".[15] Rihanna went to Rogers' hotel room, where she performed renditions of Destiny's Child's "Emotion" and Mariah Carey's "Hero".

I'm sure that's not all that happened in his hotel room

  42. There's no way this is Iggy. I agree that the part about she and her mom cleaning bathrooms could make it fit, but there's no way she's A+ list and Enty usually refers to her as a "foreign-born one hit wonder". I think the average person might know I'm So Fancy, if that. I'm into pop culture and can't name any of her songs beyond that. Also, Hmmm refers to her as a singer/actress as the end. Does Iggy act?

  43. Sorry Trish M - didn't mean to sound like I was lashing out at you directly! Maybe it's just because I really, really, really don't want this to be Rihanna (or anyone for that matter)! Awful, awful stuff. Then again, maybe it is Iggy? Rihanna never had PR stories that would match up, but I guess Iggy did. I really have no idea. This blind does scream Rihanna, but I'm still not convinced. I'm also trying to take into consideration who we all think the real Himmm is and I could definitely see him being friends with someone like Riri, but not so much Iggy. I honestly don't know. I'm stumped!

  44. I love Rhi, as do many many others. As said above, she's fierce and the real deal. Plus no one in her generation can rock some of the couture she has worn on the resres carpet--she could outdo some of the so-called "supermodels" we are forced to look at these days.

She's a real talent for her genre and a great entertainer too. If this is her, please reconsider Rhi!!!

  46. I like rhi rhi so therefore I dislike this blind. Ugh. Rihanna does a large amount of out of the spotlight charity work for the girls in the Bahamas. She was honored by Harvard but usually she just does it undercover. We've all read multiple blinds about how generous she is with her staff . She is also a huge money making machine with her fragrances that always do incredibly well. Her fentypuma clothing which sells like hotcakes and her makeup line which is very popular. This woman is on her way to becoming a billionaire. But if this blind really is about her I'm guessing all the fame and money has not bought her happiness. There are medical type detoxing and rehab she could try? And to people who say she's dating a wealthy Arab so therefore he's a bad person. You do realize how incredibly racist and islamaphobic you sound right. He could be good he could be bad just like any other ethnicity of men. And I'm glad that they included that most of the clients were wealthy WHITE men. This has been going on since slavery and colonialism. White men using brown women and then pretending to be morally superior ( see the blinds about the church) . Another one I'm foolishly rooting for, Go rhi rhi!!!!

Let's also remember that the subjects of these blinds may quite often read all of your comments. This is a suicidal person.

I wish you peace and a happy life, whoever this is. You have clearly given much of your success to help others. Maybe it's time to finally rest and let medication and therapy have a go. Especially since there have been so many advancements that really help people who could not find peace for a long time. Maybe you've already done this... I'm an abuse survivor and have chronic migraine. Finally after so many years, one particular psych med cocktail worked for both, and still does. Gave me back a lot of smiles and joy I'd missed. Keep trying. The world would be devastated if you were gone. I know I would be hurt. You don't owe anyone anything.

    1. Yes, it does sound like a suicidal person. I wish her well.

I also have a hard time connecting this with Riri because the BI describes her as if she is extremely combative (like Cardi B-levels combative—have you seen how an ENTIRE TEAM of bodyguards swarm toward her when she starts beating people? I don’t think Riri’s known for that, unless I’m uninformed about her beefs).

  51. Yes, This has Rhianna/Jay-Z/Vybz Kartel all over it. Rhianna was whoring out in Barbados when she was a young teen. It was during this time that she picked up the herpes infection. She's seriously damaged goods. But she's typical of many child rape/molestation victims who become defensive of the people who victimized them. All of these Hollywood stars sold their souls to the Devil for fame and fortune. The one commendable thing about her though is that she hasn't become an enabler who sets up other unsuspecting young people to become future victims.

  54. When I checked into my nice hotel in Nicaragua on a business trip, the first thing the desk clerked asked me was if I wanted a girl for the night. I politely declined. He chipperly gave me another go-- "She's 14 and beautiful. Are you sure?" Yes I am sure, no thank you.

And then you get that sick feeling in your stomach. But Nica is 3rd world, and no one thinks much of these things there. It is survival, and considered high value resource to exploit. And yes, often by their own family. Monthly wage for typical service job would be $250-300. Full time.

If you've never been to a 3rd world country, go see one. It's a good, if sometimes brutal reality check. And you will appreciate what you have more.

The problem is that Barbados really isn't third world. The standard of living it pretty good there. It has comprehensive healthcare, free and solid education, a 12 month tourist season, strong government and social programs. It's infrastructure is sound and there are many well paying jobs there. It ranks at the top of all the islands in the area.

There are poor people there, no doubt, but it's not the pedo paradise of Thailand or the Dominican Republic.

And, I agree with you about Grace Jones and this blind.

  72. Dang this is sad, I sure hate that for her but it's reality for so many..

  73. This does sound like it could be Grace, but her Wiki says she was already living in upstate NY (Syracuse, I think) at the age of 12 or 13. This blind implies the girl was still turning tricks at the foreign hotel at that age. Grace would have already been gone from Jamaica at that point and living in the states.

Also, the blind states that she was an A-list rapper's whore. I don't think Grace was ever involved with rappers, as she was famous during the time of disco and Studio 54. Rap wasn't even around yet.

  75. @Bumtitty - wow, I think you go it.

The other thing I was about to say about Grace Jones is that this quote from the blind doesn't fit: "I always know since I'm little that I will never grow old." Grace has grown old - she's 70.

  76. I guessed Gaga. Only from the 'on the edge comment and 'cult/AHS" reference, she always seems quite sad.

  77. Australian aboriginies are being raped by each other, not record company execs & airline moguls.

Iggy's background fits, but not the circumstances. Australian pedo rings tend to be packs of complete deros dating single mothers for access to their unsupervised kids.

  78. For once, I have to agree with Plot. My mother's family has lived in Barbados for centuries. They own hotels, built a hospital and own one of the major rum distilleries. It is hardly a third world country. It also has a 97% literacy rate. The citizens are hard-working and those who immigrate to the US, are usually quite successful, regardless of ethnicity. That branch of the family includes all of those ethnicities, even when it was considered quite scandalous for that era. So, no, not Barbados.

  79. If CDAN can’t get a working definition of A list I seriously doubt they have a great concept of third world countries. So I don’t think the definition is something to get caught up on.

I think it’s Riri both because a lot of details fit and she’s honest and self-aware enough to give this kind of candid and reflective interview.

Sometimes when you’re depressed everything seems doomed. Doesn’t mean it is. That she’s talking about it and aware of how the past lead to this point is kind of a hopeful sign to me.

  80. Lady Gaga is not foreign born.

I think this is Rihanna. It all makes sense and it SOUNDS like her.

    Says it's not
    Then you know
    The answer's got!

The Barbados gal for sure, nice catch on the ALW front.

Article titled 'Singing in the Rain' a exclusive with Rih. Mother worked accountancy jobs and Rihanna left the home at 16 to work on first album with producers Rogers, (Evan) et al. Recall this is an exclusive from Rih's mouth. She mentions Evan was vacationing with his wife and their first meeting was in a hotel room. With the second audition involved her mother.

We don't get to choose our upbringing. Only design our future. Good for you for speaking up. Especially if that's the role you've had to endure. The price of fame literally

  84. This is definitely Rhianna.

  85. What is it with the people running interference? the blind was solved, it's rhianna not iggy, grace, shakira, camila etc who don't fit at all.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I didn't know pot and drink made your behavior that risky!! You make it sound like she could pass at any moment. And what celebrity beefs? Her qwips on social media? There's nothing about Rihanna that makes you think she's lost her mind. She's running a successful makeup company, a few clothing lines and collaborations, her musical career, and has never mistreated a fan. Not exactly the stunt-like behavior.

  90. For the consideration of all -

    https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2018/03/iggy-azalea-mental-health-issues/

Except for the BI mentioning her upbringing was third world, Iggy seems to fit every other requirement.

  91. Reminder: people suffering from deep depression, anxiety, trauma and suicidal tendencies can still seem completely normal on the surface, even when they appear to have it all, success-wise.

  92. -Snoop doggy dogg

90's rap went from socially conscious to gutter disturbingly fast.

This isn't to say some gangster rap isn't socially conscious (prodigy and Mobb Deep). But a lot of the "gritty street life" depictions do glorify violence, whether they are true to life or not.

And as we can see, sometimes these aren't just fictional lifestyles. Why was it so easy to convince the public that ex gangbangers weren't actually practicing what they preach?

  93. Could Rita Ora fit?

    ReplyDelete
  94. How bout we start with listing foreign born A+ listers? Who fits? Katy Perry fits. Iggy? I don’t think so. Who else?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Rita Ora born in Yugoslavia. Don't think it would be counted as third world, but possibly at that time maybe (war, etc)

  96. This sounds like Rhianna to me, too. To the person, above, who said that her mother was an accountant: hotels employ accountants, too, of course! This blind gives a whole new meaning to Drake’s song about her “Hold On, We’re Going (Home)”...

“Cause you're a good girl and you know it
You act so different around me
Cause you're a good girl and you know it
I know exactly who you could be
Just hold on we're going home
Just hold on we're going home
It's hard to do these things alone
Just hold on we're going home (home)”

    and her song “Work”.

    Iggy Azalea.
Her mother did work in holiday houses and hotels.
It would explain why she left Australia at age 16.

  98. @MM39.....you do know Barbados is an island, which makes it overseas from everywhere.

Not Iggy .... Mullumbimby is not a hotel resort area attracting Millionaires and media Moguls.

  99. Barbados isn't a starving third world country and where is the scandal, public drug use surrounding Rihanna? Her career has been pretty stable

  103. When you say she runs a successful makeup company, clothes line etc. It's not like she gets up at 8 in the morning, goes to her office and works until late at night is it? What she (and most celebrities) do is lend their name to a product, do a bit of promotion and then receive a nice fee. Plenty of time for drugs and parties in between.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @Hugo

We are well aware of how most celebs are used for branding, Jessica Simpson coming to mind first.

Rihanna, on the other hand, has built her own product lines and is very involved. You may not have noticed but neither her fashion nor her make-up line carry her name. They are called Fenty. Companies do NOT pay celebrities to NOT put their names on products. Rihanna incorporated her own label. She has been building up to this for a long time, pushing her own fashion identity. From what I hear, her makeup line is excellent.

The charities she created are very personal to her and she rarely talks about them but nonetheless she is personally invested.

  106. The first problem I have with this blind is Barbados where Rihanna is from and always likes to get back to, is considered 3rd world? Really, as someone who has been there twice.

    ReplyDelete
  107. @Jen Ty. I agree, Barbados is one of the more prosperous islands. I haven’t been for decades, but compared to many other Caribbean island destinations, it’s much better off. But away from the beaches & resorts, for people who don’t work in the leisure industry, it is still poor by North American standards, non? I am no expert, though.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Even by US standards, Barbados is doing damn well. Universal healthcare, free and excellent education, solid infrastructure - we can't seem to manage that in the USA.

We're closer to third world than Barbados.

    ReplyDelete
  109. What is the back in the day reality show? What are the stunts she created? Public drug use? Controversies with other celebrities?
I only know about Chris Brown beating her, domestic violence isn’t a problem with another celeb. She’s a pot smoker but now a days that’s not considered a major drug. The puzzle pieces aren’t fitting too snuggly

    1. Beef with Karruche Tran is one that immediately comes to mind. She was pubically using weed before it was legal. Rihanna is a party girl her persona always struck me as someone who has been abused as a child. She has a pretty dark nature and songs like consideration with lyrics like this: I come riding in on a pale white horse

Sending out his to less fortunate
I do advise you run it back, run it on back

When you're breaking it down for me
'Cause I can hear you two times
Run it on back, will it ever make sense to me?

I got to do things my own way darling
Will you ever let me? Will you ever respect me? No
Do things my own way darling
You should just let me, why you will never let me grow?

When I look outside my window
I can't get no peace of mind
When I look outside my window
I can't get no peace of mind oh

Let me cover your shit in glitter
I can make it gold, gold
Heard you're tryna sell your soul, baby
But I'm not sure, you're running low, lately
I needed you to please give my reflection a break
From the face it’s seeing now
Ooh darling would you mind giving my reflection a break
From the pain it’s feeling now?

This song is sad and revealing.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Wow, nice resurrection!

Rihanna also feels the parts she sang in her collaborations with Eminem, love the way you lie and monster. She is very raw sounding there, significant, and brilliant. Her voice is as passionate as Eminem's rap, which ain't easy, and she made those two songs.
