Blind Item #7
She wasn't supposed to get the part, but this foreign born singer more known for her crazy name and ex boyfriend got it when she hooked up with the A- list director who then said he would walk if she wasn't cast.

DeleteHe'd what? Walk if she wasn't cast? I guess it's supposed to mean 'walk out'?
ReplyDeleteWalk as in walk away, leave. "Cast her or find another director."
ReplyDeleteYeah, FKA Twiggs is a weird name. I forgot she existed. Oh well.

ReplyDeleteOk, thanks @Saintpat. I'm not a native speaker
ReplyDeleteIt's a commercial. Like, whatever. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteSo is that why she and Patz broke up bcz she boned Jonze?
ReplyDeleteI mean, at least he held up his end of the bargain, right?

ReplyDeleteIs Sike Jonze still considered an A- director? His last major film was in 2009 and I think it wasn’t the hit everyone had hoped.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those totally fabricated blinds made up by Kristen Stewart fans who hate the fact that FKA twigs is successful. They want her to drop off the face of the earth because they believe she is still an obstacle from Rob taking Kristen back. They ignore that fact that she prefers the ladies and he avoids her like she has the plague. Twigs got the role in this Apple ad based on her talent as a dancer and all the critics are claiming the ad is the best of the year so far. It kills Kristen's fans to see Twigs and/or Rob happy and successful, especially since Kristen's career is floundering.
ReplyDeleteYou haven't been paying attention @Ann--Jonze last major film was HER in 2013, which won an Oscar. That makes him A list and once a director has achieved that, he can do what he wants. For Jonze that doesn't include being desperate to make another film. He's mostly produced a lot of television like VICE for HBO. He's always been very involved with music, which is why he's perfect for directing a video like this Apple ad. It's going to win awards as well.
ReplyDeleteWhy do Kristen fans care about her anymore? They broke up.
ReplyDeleteSane people know they broke up five long years ago and he goes out of his way to avoid her. Kristen's fans aren't sane. They can't deal with who she is. She will forever be "Bella" from Twilight to them and they deny that she's been living with Stella Maxwell for over a year. They have blogs, they're on Twitter and they leave horrible comments on Twigs' IG, even though she and Rob broke up last year. They hate any woman who gets near him, it's crazy. They send blinds like this in all the time, either saying something rude about Twigs or Rob, depending on who they're mad at any particular week. They're like the crazy Damies who ship Dakota Johnson with Janie Dornan, even tho he's married. It's a sickness.
ReplyDeleteI just happened to see HER this week. What messed up garbage drivel with JP acting/dressed like a total pedo freak. Jonze (hah) even put the triangle symbol earrings on a love interest character (OM). That guy (SJ) has the stink all over him... slime freak.
ReplyDeleteMeh, I feel like if he demanded she was cast (and tbh I imagine it would be his decision to make anyway) it's probably because he legit thought she was the best choice for it. It's a great ad but I think I still like his Kenzo one better.
ReplyDelete@Margie yes I forgot about Her. It may have won for best screenplay but it lost money ($23 m budget vs $43 m box office) and Wild things was even a bigger flop ($100 m budget vs $100 m box office). That is not an A list director. It may give him a certain credibility amongst some but it doesn’t mean he can do anything he wants. His name doesn’t guarantee an automatic green light - he still has to do the shuffle like so many 2nd tier directors do. If I were to guess, I'd say that the dreary aesthetic/production design he chooses makes even his well written films a slog to get through.
ReplyDeleteI always like to say that Spike Jonze did his best work in Three Kings.
ReplyDeleteSpike Jonze did his best work on those music videos in the 90s (Weezer, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys etc).
ReplyDeleteKS fan but blinds not from us. No one cares about RPs famewhore has-beens. Good on Twigs getting this gig. She's a talented singer/performer. So what if she slept w/ someone she wasn't supposed to...or she didn't and this is BS. Neither KS or RP are guilt-free in that arena either. Big f-ing deal.
