Yes, she was tipsy, and quite possibly headed to drunk, but this former A list 80's star who works a lot behind the cameras now wrote a check for $2500 to a student filmmaker she met yesterday at a party to help with her tuition.
There are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse haha! Awesome if it's Jodie, great actress and I like her in movies a lot. All respect, it certainly meant world to that student.
You all are better people than me. All I thought about reading this blind was: Rookie move, bringing your check book with when you go out drinking. You only bring a card so you cannot be preyed upon in your inebriated state and you can honestly tell the homeless and needy "I have no money on me."
@SkittleKitty, Lol! But anyone who was a star in the 80s might still carry a checkbook. :) Especially if she has kids -- piano teacher, guitar teacher, tutor, nanny, etc.

ReplyDeleteWould J Foster really be considered an 80s star? SILENCE OF THE LAMBS was the 90s.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Jodie Foster. She's an Oscar winner; and her best known work is from the 90's (Silence of the Lambs, Nell)
ReplyDeleteJustine Bateman from Family Ties?
ReplyDeleteShe got a computer science degree; worked as a producer; served on the board for SAG
Penny Marshall
ReplyDeleteMolly Ringwold
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt is probably the same student filmmaker who was given passes to the parties by the kind, older actor! What a dream night for him!
ReplyDeleteMore Cowbell, this blind says "she" -- this is a female student.
ReplyDeletejust happened to have her checkbook
ReplyDeleteWhat? In 2018, you don’t pack a checkbook into your tiny, evening clutch?

ReplyDeleteDo they still have checkbooks in the States? How quaint
ReplyDeleteCheckbook?? Not Venmo? Paypal? Weird!
ReplyDeleteI agree with @Deborah.
ReplyDeleteThis news here is that someone was carrying a checkbook! :O

Lea Thompson? Was big in the 80s as an actress but is now directing TV shows. No idea if she was at the Oscars.
