I think what caught everyone surprised by this very recent A list rapper's big news is that until at least a month ago she was partying really hard still and even did a night of drinking shots until she passed out.
Hhhhaa! Ive never been but can’t believe what it has devolved into.... it’s like the Billboard/Teen choice awards now when it used to celebrate and showcase musiciansπ°/music
Its still a fantastic festival but I get where you are coming from, especially this year. The top line is stupid compared to previous years where bands like NIN, Radiohead, Bjork etc... headlined. But its tradition for me and my group. We normally gravitate towards the smaller stages now. And only on weekend 2 , less wannabe Instagram stars. Europe is where to go for good festivals these days
I like it. Baby gives staying power. She knows how replaceable she is and how shallow her gimmick is. It's very clever. You can already have all sorts of "who is Daddy" drama. Does Bruno Mars is gay the father? Then you can pimp the child to producers. Actually, wait, this is terrible.
I went to the very first Lollapalooza ever. It was phenomenal! The second year was good too, then it became mainstream and lost its mojo. Same w/ Burning Man, Coachella, etc.
NOLA Jazz Fest is ALWAYS a good time from old jazz to new jazz to fusion jazz. I LOVE IT!!! Last time I went to Jazz Fest I was lucky enough to be backstage w/ Galatic, DJ Logic, MMW, PHISH, Skerik and more at Tipitina's. That show went until 7 a.m. and I still get goosebumps when I think about it. Unforgettable fun night!!
Me too! The Neville Brothers closing at sunset(played d bongo with them/jumped onstage lol)....it is always goosebump and storytellin worthy for sureπ₯❤️ππΉπΌπ€πΊ
ha I haven't been to Coachella in years...not a fan of the expense for less than talent. I'd rather pay more to see individuals and get a full set. One of these days I'm going to drag my better half to New Orleans, love it so much there, spent one birthday drunk on hand grenades wearing wings all up and down Bourbon St. Happy memories!
Jazz Fest is interesting, but it's also a real pain. Hot, sticky, and maybe muddy if it rains.
I haven't been in years, but the last time I went, it was impossible to really hear any of the big names unless you had an enormous bladder and were willing to camp out for hours in front of one of the main stages.
But there were pleasures to be found if you went to the smaller venues.
One year I was walking down a pathway and in a little gazebo-like stage was the "Turtle Band of Belize". Nobody much was watching except me. They were playing some kind of Caribbean jam and making up lyrics about the people that walked by. "Here we are at Jazz Festival. Look at the lady walking by in the pink, pink blouse. Here in Jazz Festival". Their kids would wander on and off stage. It was great.
I watched for over an hour.
My all time favorite, though, was when I decided to rest my weary legs in the jazz tent. It was me and maybe four other people. But on the piano was Ellis Marsalis. Holy crap he was good! This was after his performing days but before his kids got famous, so almost nobody seemed to know who he was. At the time he was teaching music as a professor at UNO. I'll never forget sitting there for the whole set. Just amazed.
In all the years I went, I never really listened to a "name" band. Still had fun.
The first time I went to SXSW, if you lived in Austin, the wristbands were discounted to $50 each. You could buy them at local record stores. Now, Austinites pretty much avoid downtown completely during the festival.
i saw a posr by enty about a month ago about backstage crew saying she was pregnant, then she released a statement like ‘b*tch im just fat, let me fat in peace’. ππ I saw the photos of her performing at tht event where they said she was pregnant. And i know the difference between pregnant and fat. Believe me. Im a momma.
Card I B/pregnant
