One of the lead actors of this new movie which is a sequel to a movie that didn't do that well and the sequel is going to do worse didn't even bother to show up for a Q&A about the movie. Why? He wants as far away from the bomb as he can. He let the other lead, a foreign born A- list mostly movie actor handle the duties solo.

DeleteGoggins. He seems pretty cool though. Major league 3 didn’t finish him off.
DeleteScott Eastwood John Boyega Pacific Rim Rising

ReplyDeleteThe last jedi cast? Worst movie I have ever seen. Sadly, it is not that one, i suspect.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's Eastwood letting Boyega take the heat for Pacific Rim 2. But then, Boyega does have a producer credit, so seems fair to me.
ReplyDeleteEastwood was being his inherited-squinty self on GMA this morning, talking about Pac Rim. So, not him/it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Pacific Rim, but damn I loved the first one. Stringer Bell in a giant f*cking robot!
ReplyDelete@brayson +100 !!!
DeleteI LOVEd first one too! I’m not sure how I feel about the second one, it makes me think of child soldiers. Pity because I LOVE MΓCHA! My brother and cousin are going to Japan in the summer to see Gundam!!!!!!
DeleteThey should’ve stuck with age-appropriate (conscription/military age) characters like Idris Elba and Hunnam and the Rinko/Mako.
I wonder if this is Soldada (sequel to Sicario) that stars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah LooLoo, I like your guess, Sicario was nothing compared to Narcos.

The 26-year-old Star Wars actor stepped out for a special screening and Q+A, moderated by Jamie Broadnax and in partnership With Black Girl Nerds, on Monday (March 19) in New York City. He recently opened up about his relationship with 2013′s Pacific Rim and what got him excited about the sequel.
Sorry, Scott Eastwood, but if I was at that event I’d much rather see John Boyega anyway ππ½
ReplyDeleteOprah
ReplyDeleteGoggins is cool, he was great on Justified and The Shield and The Hateful Eight. Plus he has a good appreciation for the importance of interior lighting.
ReplyDeleteI love him. He was amazing on The Shield, Justified, and SOA.
DeleteI love him on Vice Principals. So, so perfect. His Instagram is also endlessly entertaining.
DeleteGoggins is awesome. Don't forget his reoccurring character on SOA. The scenes with him and Kim Coates were the best part of the show.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteIt's Scott Eastwood. I was at the screening and Q&A. John Boyega is funny and charming guy. Too bad the movie is awful.
ReplyDeletePac Rim 1 was amazing. I doubt the director of some Smallville episodes can live up to Guilllermos creation.
ReplyDeleteI love how Del Toro lights and photographs his movies but PR1 put me right to sleep.
Delete+1 IT WAS AMAZIIIIIIIING
DeleteThe uprising of a rim didn’t pique my interest to see this film
ReplyDeletePacific Rim didn't do that well nationally ($119M, considered a bomb I guess, $150M budget), but killed internationally ($411M), which warranted a sequel. Big spectacle monster movies almost always do well overseas, esp. Asian countries. It will prob not do well again domestically, and once again have great numbers internationally. Wouldn't even doubt that there will be a 3rd movie at some point.
ReplyDeleteFirst one wasn't horrible, certainly better than any Michael Bay Transformer movie, or anything he puts his name on really. I was entertained; with these movies you pay for the spectacle, just don't insult my intelligence. Didn't feel like this movie did. But, as always, insulting intelligence is subjective I guess lol.

DeleteWalt Goggins recently co-stared on “Vice Principals” on HBO, with Danny McBride. Season 1, episodes 2 & 7 are my personal favorites.
ReplyDeleteI just want to say I love John Boyega and I hope he keeps his nose clean and far away from these blinds.
ReplyDeleteJust to be diff, Johnny Depp and "Sherlock Gnomes." I like the "Pacific Rim" line of pursuit, too.
ReplyDelete+1 Roger Moore. Depp letting McAvoy do all the publicity.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Pacific Rim the movie might do poorly in America BUT studios care MORE about the foreign box office.
ReplyDeleteTotally Pacific Rim. Good riddance, Sam Westfield. We know & like John Boyega more anyway. Wait, that was his name, right?
