The first Tide commercial was classic. The rest were diminishing returns, but still funny. I'd pick the first one as best, party because I like David Harbour so much too.
Did anyone else think that Coke commercial with the painfully thin girl was creepy af? Also hated the "MLK wants you to buy a Dodge Ram" ad.
The fact they didn't show the guy who's playing Han Solo in the "Solo" trailer was pretty telling. Then I watched the extended trailer on YouTube and realized why.
The Tide campaign was a slam-dunk conversation pivot aimed at the same meme-obssessed clowns that kept talking about eating their detergent. Really smart, funny and subversive.
Omg I wanted badly for the movie commercial about a crocodile Dundee remake to be real. Danny McBride and Chris Hemsworht were so funny. I wish they would make that movie for real..
Devito because I never realized how perfect he is as an M&M.
Odell and Eli because it was funny, light and Odell being lifted was brilliant.
Alexa because of basically all of it, but Cardi B doing a Cardi B impression was funny as hell. She's taking every single opportunity to cash in on her success while she can and I love that about her. Stack chips while you can, the features will only take her so far into 2018.
AND, that Dodge commercial was the worst. Even worse that Damon.
Coke is good commercials, ever since I was a kid and the I want to teach the world to sing commercials. They've always been inclusive, even when it wasn't trendy and it comes off as genuine, not pandering.
Diet Coke - I don't know what that was supposed to be. I get it was a Greta Gerwig reference, but it was strange and blah (like diet coke)
Shaun White, hands down, He has been our favorite athlete since he was 13. His commercial with Iron Man was awesome for us. But really, the one with Eli and ODJ was the best. I really hated the Tide one, sorry.
Loved the Tide commercial with Mustafa and David Harper ... also the one with Eli and OD was a winner!! I have to admit I thought the Lindsey Vonn commercial was beautiful
1. Doritos/Mountain Dew because Peter Dinklage was in it 2. M&M because of Danny Devito 3. The NFL/Dirty Dancing one because it was pretty funny. 4. The Alexa one - but only because of Gordon Ramsey 5. The avacado one because it shows how all these snowflakes want everyone to only have the good things - but then when they realized that the chips were left outside because they aren't good for you was hysterical - along with the WiFi going down part. We have to have balance people!
that's just it they were overall lousy. I did like the one with the old people working the jobs. fireman ,DJ etc. but I can't remember what it was for so that fails too
I'm going to answer this thread because of the sentimental value. My friend actually messaged me to tell me there was an "Infinity War" trailer with "your bae" (and mind you, he said taht in MY LOCAL LANGUAGE and he's an anglophone westerner). I feel like I've reached a new milestone of fangirling when my friends contact me about a fictional superhero like that like they just saw my boyfriend at the mall or something. 🗽👩🏻🚕🍂💛
And I say taht as someone who's kind of not excited about IW—but I'm a little more open to it now because my brother (my biological brother with no vested interest in making me buy a Marvel film ticket) explained why Marvel had to throw EVERYONE in it. But, yes, the commercial/trailer itself was nothing amusing, but teh sweetness of it makes it valuable for me.
The $cientology one
ReplyDeleteSHUT UP 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteI didn't even look it up because I was so creeped out they'd be at the Super Bowl.
Matt Damon promoting water with an overpriced beer glass made me LMAO.

My second favorite was the one they were supposed to show when the screen went totally black😂

The Tide commercials really cleaned up!
ReplyDeleteCoke commercial was creepy.
Doritos and Mountain Dew because duh!
None - but the most disturbing was the Scientology one and Matt Demon one with his aging gremlin face.
ReplyDeleteTide
ReplyDeleteI have to admit - Danny DeVito as an M&M actually made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI loved all of the Subaru Dog Commercials.
ReplyDeleteBut this was my favourite one:
Subaru Dog Tested I Drop Off
https://youtu.be/lxAU0DFw-84
Dorito Blaze/Mountain Dew Ice
ReplyDeleteMy favorite definitely was the Kia Stinger/Steven Tyler commercial! Even made my husband laugh! Bet Tyler wishes he could go back in time....ha!

Funny how the biggest snowflakes are the people constantly complaining about "snowflakes".
