Blind Item #11
This B list mostly movie actor had his Oscar dreams dashed last year because of how he behaved towards women. Another two are set to come forward alleging the same type of behavior he was accused of before.

Nate Parker?

ReplyDeleteIt's time they go to Jail.
ReplyDeleteBut white boy Casey Affleck got his Oscar. Jewllywood is so racist.
ReplyDeleteNate and James Franco can commiserate together.
ReplyDeleteWhat about James Franco?

DeleteI was sad when I saw the headlines. I still hope it’s not true, but the possibility seems diminished with additional accusers

ReplyDelete@Anne. Franco saw his Oscar hopes evaporate this year because of accusations against him.
ReplyDeleteJames Franco
ReplyDeleteNate Parker is more than just an actor. I don't think this is him. He is a rapist. This blind just says "how he behaved towards women."
ReplyDeleteNate Parker was acquitted, as you all know. Falsely accusing a black man of rape and then ruining his career/life is more like 1918 not 2018.
ReplyDeleteYour right, everyone got away with rape in 1918,the good ol days huh? How dare that girl kill herself and ruin his shot at a Oscar, the nerve!
DeleteParker may have been acquitted, but after the girl reported them, he and the other guy harassed her until she committed suicide. (Girls who falsely accuse someone usually don't commit suicide). I saw him in an interview, and he came across like a horrible, phony D-Bag who could not have cared less. It spoke volumes about him.

@Gator,
ReplyDeleteI'm not defending Parker's conduct during the sexual incident, which was sleazy at best (we still cannot say with legal certainty whether it was rape, as Parker was indeed acquitted by a jury). And I also think Parker could have shown much more sensitivity in his interviews about the subject.
That said, you cannot say with certainty that she committed suicide specifically because of the incident. Parker was acquitted in 2001. His co-defendant had his conviction overturned in 2005. The woman did not commit suicide until 2012. That's a gap of at least 7 years. She was also known to have a history of mental health issues, so any number of factors could have contributed to her taking her life.
I cannot help but think that if Nate Parker was a white guy under the circumstances (also with an acquittal), he would not be dragged to the same degree. America does not hide its racism very well.
Read what he did that he admits to. The second guy was convicted. The only reason Parker was acquitted was because she had previously gone on a date with him. I agree a white guy wouldn't have had any consequences.

DeleteJames Franco was this year, not last year, so it's not him (Golden Globes were in early January -- after that the stuff hit the fan for him). Plus Franco, for name recognition alone, would be at least B+.
ReplyDeleteNate might work, but I'm wondering if there is someone else we aren't thinking of.
Its Nate Parker. He's trying to do a new project. Many people are questioning the timing (trying to do it now amidst metoo/timesup) so the accusers will of course come forward.
ReplyDeleteWhoever here says Nate Parke is innocent never read the court papers. The guy not only had sex with an unconscious woman, but he brought a second person to rape her who testified and was convicted. He deserved every single bit of retaliation he got. Plus the woman committed suicide. I bet those claiming this are blacks who also think everything is about racism and that OJ is innocent.
