  1. My doctor prescribed a new laxative. It's quite expensive, but I will say it's giving me a run for my money.

  2. On my laptop with my girlfriend in bed.

  3. In a theater. It's easy to find theaters, but tough to find movies.

  4. In my living room by myself

  5. SciFi and comic book flicks at the IMAX in Lincoln Square, everything else at my home theater.

  7. If I could rent out a theater, I would. It just takes one audience member to ruin the movie going experience, so I watch most movies at home or try to catch early or late shows.

Take THREE in trying to post this. Can't stand how glitchy this site is.

  8. Nothing beats the theater experience if the crowd is respectful (no talking, no phones), the bulbs/lens/projector are all correct (not so easy to find anymore), the screen is clean and the lights are dark.

  9. One of those premium theaters with the recliners with rumble packs in them, big screens, and amazing sound system.

  10. In an empty/art house type theatre with nobody there....bliss.

  11. At my house away from rude noisy people.

  12. In a classic old school movie house, with a giant screen and great sound. And greasy "buttered(?)" popcorn out of a bucket.

  13. In my hammock! The best way.

  14. Today: At my computer at home with a bowl of chili and a Rum & Coke made with Mount Gay Rum. In March: In the barn of my new tiny ranch outside Santa Fe, with the chickens sitting on my lap eating all the popcorn. Bought the livestock, too.

  15. Movie theatre. It is a bigger than life experience that transports me away. If the audience is quiet.

  16. Boo, your ranch sounds idyllic and fabulous! My mum used to have chickens - they were large, black with red beaks (can't remember the breed.) One was mauled by a fox, and mum rushed her to the vet, but she had to be put to sleep. The other chicken, imaginatively named 'Chicken' was so tame that she would sit on her lap eating, and she would follow mum around the garden. She had ducks too, and the small one would boss the large one around. All this going on while the old tabby cat was chasing the two Basset Hounds!
Good luck with your move. It sounds wonderful.

  18. Kimberley-Thanks so much for sharing this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone on earth had a little ranch with animals on it? We would be a far less warlike people, I think. I have a sinking feeling when I get out there permanently I am not even going to have cable! I'll probably be a lot happier. Thanks so much for being so nice to me over the last weeks. It is so much appreciated! Big hugs.

  19. Hugs to you too, @Boo and I agree. Also, it always blows my mind when I watch American TV programmes and everything is so big! Houses, land etc. My favourite program is Longmire and I just drool at the scenery (and at Lou Diamond Phillips, lol.) x

  20. @Tricia - Odd times at movie theatres are the best! There was an arts house cinema which had a deal with the bookstore I worked at, and selected staff could have free/cheap tickets. Went to see 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure' (which was a blast!) & only 3 of us in the place. This was a matinee. Also saw there: at matinees: 'Cabaret' and 'Ran' (Japanese adaptation of King Lear.) FAbulous!

  22. Theater. Reserved electric reclining seats, plus pre order your snacks and refreshments to be delivered to your seats. Only way it could be better is if there was a $50 upcharge for a blowie.

  23. @ Tricia - I think it was actually called 'The Art House Cinema.' It was in Cambridge (England) where I lived. Pretty place, green spaces, plus the lovely old buildings of Cambridge University.

  24. Do people on this site even watch movies or even care about art anymore?

  25. Still think it is Keira Knightly...phantom Menace...George Lucas. Keira was born in 85...Phantom Mmenace cane out 99...probably shot 97/98. She wood have been 12-13 during shooting.

  26. Off topic. Hope that's cool.
I mostly read reveals, and kindness blinds. Was just curious if there'd been any likely dirt against Dave Franco. I'm hoping he's less of a scumbag, despite the role model. Mostly cause I love Alison Brie.
Also, fwiw, between James Franco and Jared Leto, can we just stop having male hearthrobs in GOOD shows about being a teenager? They grow up so bad these days.

  27. I like to go out to the movies so I can eat the popcorn.

@simply - You don't really know a thing about us.

  28. At home I used to like watching DVD's at in the study (there's a home theatre with a REALLY GOOD sound system) but since the mess my parents made in a fight last October, I bought an external DVD player for my laptop. I'm thinking about getting a Blu-ray player but I want to be sure I get the right one (check regions/whether the local ones will have the same bonus content—I'm sick of local censorship).

For cinemas, there's a place like at my favourite mall (it has 4DX and regular 3D, but not IMAX). It's my comfort zone (because my first cinema screening was at that particular place, it feels like home—even if the experience itself was very odd). So if I'm going to see something that might potentially make me feel vulnerable (ex: "Doctor Strange"), I go to that cinema. So I feel safe.

Unfortunately, now I also have a stalker and I think she's figured out I like to go there (I know this because last month, I lost my tote bag and while I was looking for it, I went through the group's stuff—among her VERY creepy things was a "Thor" drinking bottle exclusive to taht theatre chain, she likes taunting me with "stalker" signs/threats like that, she had no reason to bring those kind of things). Sadly, I might have to see "Black Panther" elsewhere to avoid her/throw her off. It's baffling how being stalked can so significantly ruin the quality of your life.

    1. And by the way, "Doctor Strange" wasn't taht terrible. In fact, I find so much comfort in it now that I actually own a fan blog on Tumblr.

My advice is: If you get diagnosed with something nasty, FFS find a good film about it? I was initially misdiagnosed with RA (actually I had a different autoimmune disease the whole time) and when I got home, I Googled it and Wikipedia's illustration of the "worst case scenario" was a photo of deformed hands. And as if that wasn't terrible enough? They referenced Edith Piaf. I remember watching "La Vie En Rose" in French class and how it was portrayed. Between winter 2013–Summer 2015 (when I was finally correctly diagnosed) I was just HAUNTED by taht film. And then I also began to have peripheral neuropathy in late 2015 (although I didn't really realise it until I was in ballet class in mid-2016).

But no. "Doctor Strange" is wonderful for me. ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป๐Ÿš•๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ’›

To this day, i still have some PTSD from "La Vie En Rose", sometimes I'll see Marion Cotillard with curly hair and I'll want to puke/my eyes start watering. Taht film was extreme. I'm not afraid of needles but the syringes in that film were so scary. I'm getting the chills just writing about it. Awful film.
