Blind Items Revealed #19

December 25, 2017

This supporting act from a now defunct very hit pay cable show that is iconic, pulled the ultimate "rat" move by disclosing information, ignoring his NDA, throwing fellow cast under the bus, and ultimately sending the show's creator into a ballistic tirade. The entire cast really were a "family" and acted as such, but this actor thought he was bigger than he was. He demanded his own trailer, posters made of his face (none of which he got) and made huge demands. To top it all off, with the known secrecy demanded, which all the cast was in alignment with, he brought onto a 'closed" secretive set, a known gossip columnist and Mafia princess. In turn he was thrown off the set, written off the show in the most ridiculous way and has really not been heard from since. The rest of the cast, including the shows creator cannot stand him. Recently however, he made his directorial debut, and none of the other cast from the past show showed up to support him. His directorial debut bombed and was awful.

  1. Aw man, I really like Furio

  2. Had to google him. BC he was on Sopranos and dated Gotti he thought he was the stah of the show. No wonder he got a nasty death. On a show like that no one is safe, that is except for Tony.

  3. I thought it was the gay mafioso guy who's entire story that whole wasted season sucked and I've never heard from again. I think his name is Joe Gannascoli?

  4. Furio basically was just "Oh, he went back to Italy, buh bye" in one episode, never heard from again.

  6. He was a good looking guy that had a lot of buzz when he was on the show. I remember that. But you’re only as important as the show you are attached to. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

  7. This totally explains why his character's arc just ended unceremoniously.

  8. Sandy:

Joe Gannascoli is a part owner of both a store and a restaurant near where I live (Long Island). I see him there all the time.

    1. Ah! I was just at the Petco next door to Vincent’s Clam Bar tonight! Crazy seeing it pop up here. I was in town for the mall, ha.

  10. My fave show ever. Furio, never the star. Christopher was much more integral, not Furio. But he was very good while he was on.

  11. Just started rewatching the Sopranos a couple weeks ago, after watching catching the pilot on HBO while flipping the channels. I'm just about through the 3rd season. 2 things that really stood out to me: The color pallet of late 90s clothes was awful, and the dialog of the people when they try to talk "smaht" is cringe worthy. It is like 2 rungs better than Damon Wayans behind bars. Still love the show.

  12. Joseph G. lives in East Rockaway. The restaurant was Il Luogo on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook. He used to cook there on Tuesday nights and come out and talk with the diners. He may or may not have had an ownership interest...I don't know. He isn't there anymore.

He was marketing a pasta sauce called "A Sauce to Die For" and they had an event promoting it at Cross Island Fruits in Lynbrook and he was there signing the jars and taking pictures. I have seen him in the store several times. I think he is friends with the owner....a guy who looks EXACTLY like Paul Sorvino.

  13. Furio always reminded me of a Caucasian Jackie Chan.
