This just about permanent A list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee was talking to herself on the red carpet. The actress, who has recently spent time on television was asking herself questions and then answering them as if someone was interviewing her, complete with the appropriate facial responses to each question. It was a little unnerving.

ReplyDeleteKidman? I know she was off her face with flu pills
ReplyDeleteWinona Ryder?
ReplyDeleteOoh, early start today! Yes, I'd go Kidman too. Interested to see that Times Up has galvanized an active presence on her Instagram considering her account has been up and running for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh! You notice patterns in people's online posts too! High fiiiive! 🙌🏼
DeleteExcept I Googled "Nicole Kidman Instagram" and it looks like she isn't on Instagram? Maybe it's an imposter/fake account?
Looks like her posts are all fairly new. Probably just means someone recently started handling it for her. I doubt she posts herself.
DeleteMaybe she was nervous and rehearsing before interview lol.
ReplyDeletei'd go with she was rehearsing.
ReplyDeleteJessica Chastain. She has fairly well known anxiety issues, and that type of rehearsal for conversations is something my own therapist has recommended for stressful moments. Her recent television work was on SNL this week.
ReplyDeleteFuck no. This has Laura Jean Poon Reese Witherspoon written all over it.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh If this was Jessica Chastain she can do anything she pleases
ReplyDelete-carry on
Why does someone with social anxiety issues choose a profession which requires a large amount of social interaction with strangers?
ReplyDeleteBecaaaauusseeee... It feels SOOOO GOOD to be someone else, and get away with doing things that you'd never get to do otherwise because people might judge you/whatever your character is illegal... Especially when the lights go out, you feel like you're in a "reality cocoon" and it feels so real. 🗽👩🏻🚕🍂💛
DeleteWhen it's good, it's good. Acting doesn't actually require meeting a bunch of new strangers, as long as you don't get famous!
You are playing a role, not the same as chatting up strangers at a party.
DeleteNothing new.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked film crew in the course of doing my job, I'd come across actors/actresses away from the set by the crew trucks who would be "rehearsing" their lines all by themselves.
One actress who I never saw ever again was screaming like bloody murder screams. I thought she was in trouble.
No. Just gearing up for her scene.
@Scandi It's @nicolekidman (blue tick). The account has been there for months, with A-list followers and everything, but her first post only appeared the night of the Golden Globes. Or "the Golden Gloves", as I just repetitively typed...
ReplyDeletehttp://instagram.com/nicolekidman <-- that is SO WEIRD. It won't open for me? It says connection problems? And it didn't appear on the search results.
DeleteHow strange! Opens OK for me, but I already follow her - maybe her account has been locked?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Maybe.
DeleteIt just opened for me fine. Maybe it was a temporary thing?
DeleteActually I can open it now that I've turned VPN on. Why would it be blocked by the government of the country I live in, tho? 🤷🏻♀️
DeleteCan you tell us which country...?
DeleteSounds like Winona. She is too cute!
ReplyDeleteGina Davis??
ReplyDeleteThis isn’t unnerving, this is preparation for the awful questions that are about to be thrown at them in front of cameras by awful hosts that they can’t stand as it is!
ReplyDeleteProfessionals practice, if there's a camera then they're on the clock.
ReplyDeleteWinona, Halle, Nicole, Geena D, and Susan S all fit the bill. Since Keith was there with Nicole, one of the others makes more sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI give professional presentations with Q/A from audience. I practice A/A on myself for about 30 minutes prior to my gig. No one around me cares cuz we all got our methods. It's called being competent and prepared.
ReplyDelete@edged1; "Why does someone with social anxiety issues choose a profession which requires a large amount of social interaction with strangers?"
ReplyDeleteit's called exposure therapy
the " just about permanent A list mostly movie actress" makes me think this is someone who is close enough to be considered A list, and Jessica Lange to me is already there. also "who recently did tv" - sounds like whoever this was attended alone.
ReplyDeleteMarisa Tomei? recent tv gig was on Supergirl. won an oscar for My Cousin Vinny.
this is not weird to me at all. who the hell cares? people who think its weird should consider why they care so much. but then again, it takes something severe for me to cast judgment. this is Not one of those situations.
'close enough to be consider permanent*** A list'
ReplyDelete@ edged1 - its stupid to say 'why not just choose another career'
ReplyDeleteever thought they are good enough and talented enough where its worth it to deal with anxiety? cause it sounds like that kind of attitude is just 'cant handle it! imma quit! im going to not risk it! not do it! too uncomfortable!"- and that....is a horrible attitude to live life. recipe for misery all the way through, my friend. I applaud people who still go through the exposure of it, get uncomfortable, but do it so they do what they're good at/what they love.
Sounds like something i'd do, but i would still manage to fuck up my answers when trying to answer them in front of a person tho.
