This A+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee is acting as cover for her A list ex who is about to be accused of some heinous behavior. DeleteSay what you want, but Jennifer Lawrence is extremely talented, Winter Bone, American Hustle, Silver Lining Playbook were not flukes. I find her goofiness refreshing. At least she's not twaddling about her process, referring to herself as an actor or how "generous' her co-stars are. I'll take a good fart joke or pretension any day.

ReplyDeleteI really like JLaw in her public appearances/talk shows/red carpets. She always gave a friendly, goofy, doesn't take herself seriously at all type of vibe. The falling at awards shows and basically everywhere was cute. She wasn't embarrassed and instead embraced being clumsy.
ReplyDeleteThat was how I felt. But she did "worship Woody Allen" and worked a lot with Singer. I respect that she said she had her own MeToo moment and nothing she has done takes away from the pain and trauma of that experience. But she has fallen into the middle ground of standing up to say it's wrong, while not condemning those she's praised.
Jennifer Lawrence is well on her way to looking like Ben Affleck in a few short years.

Those hacked pictures of JLaw were incredibly telling. She was posed, confident, with coy looks and slight smiles. That chick knew exactly what she had to do to get Oscars and had no problem doing it. She was no victim.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm not the only one who thinks Lawrence's acting stinks? I thought she was awful in American Hustle, but admittedly have avoided a lot of her other films. I agree with LA juice. I think she was happy to couch. There's just something I can't put my finger on about her. Money and fame really change people.
ReplyDeleteMidsummer, i had no clue who she was when i saw Winter's Bone, just that the movie was about methbillies. When it was over, i felt the Oscar nom was deserved. Since then i have been a fan. Never watched them Hunger Games though.

I think a lot of women must have done a lot of things in order to get roles. It would be amazing if someone like jlaw admitted to it. I would not only respect her but admire her for actually coming out amd saying look i know i am a great actress but in order to be seen I had to screw people like HW.
