Man With Knife Arrested At Elizabeth Smart Event

An Indiana man who was handling a knife and trying to get closer to guest speaker Elizabeth Smart at an Indiana State University event has been charged with battery for punching a police officer who stopped him from approaching Smart.

Claude F. Hudson, 80, was seen acting oddly at a book signing by Smart in the Heritage Lounge at Tirey Hall, police said. Smart was on campus to speak about her ordeal of being abducted in 2002.

Hudson appeared Wednesday in Vigo Superior Court 5, where Judge Michael Rader ordered a mental health evaluation. Hudson has a lengthy criminal history that includes a 1991 conviction for attempted murder in Nevada.

Hudson was outspoken in court, demanding he be allowed to represent himself. Rader ordered Hudson held in lieu of $25,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed. He set a May 9 trial date.

According to a probable cause affidavit, ISU Police Capt. Ian Loomis said he saw Hudson handling a folding knife and turning toward Smart several times.

Hudson closed the knife and placed it into a pocket, then moved “in a dedicated and determined fashion” toward Smart, who was seated at a table signing books.

Loomis reported he tried to stop Hudson, who struck Loomis twice in the midsection. Loomis blocked a third strike and removed Hudson from the area to be questioned. The knife was taken from Hudson.

Man With Knife Shot Outside Louvre

A French soldier shot and seriously wounded a knife-wielding man Friday who attempted to attack security forces outside the Louvre museum. France’s prime minister called the assault “terrorist in nature.”

Details about the suspect were not immediately disclosed, but French media reported that he shouted “Allahu akbar,” or “God is great” in Arabic, as he charged at the soldier.

The incident immediately stoked fears across Paris after a series of terrorist bloodshed in the French capital and across France in the past two years, including the November 2015 rampage through Paris that claimed 130 lives and last July’s truck ramming in Nice that left more than 80 people dead.

French police said the attacker was armed with at least one machete and was carrying two briefcases as he attempted to enter the museum’s shopping center. When he was refused entry to the Carrousel du Louvre, he allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the soldier, who then fired five rounds into the attacker’s stomach, France’s interior ministry tweeted.

Bernard Cazeneuve, France’s prime minister, described the knife attack was clearly “terrorist in nature.” No explosives were found in the man’s two bags, the interior ministry tweeted.

The soldier was slightly wounded in the scalp, and the attacker remained alive. The interior ministry also said a second person was arrested in connection to the attack.

This singer is A list. Pretty close to A+ list. Country music. For the past several years, there have been some disturbing stories about him and the way he treats female fans who want to have sex with him. Our singer is married, but that has never kept him faithful. Oh, sure he will spin yarns about being faithful and never strays but it is just a complete bunch of crap. Apparently from the time the hotel room or bedroom door on the bus closes, the women who agree to be with him live several hours of hell. They usually emerge beaten and bruised and have been shown his collection of guns to make sure they don't say anything to anyone. When the woman is on the bus, our singer will usually push her out the door and yell to everyone on board that they are now free to enjoy her. No one actually has sex with her, but that walk through the guys is often a horrible and basically just 90 feet of sexual assault.

Last year, after a woman was forced to walk the bus gauntlet while naked and carrying her clothes and purse with her, she decided to file a lawsuit against the singer. In the letter from her attorney to the attorney for the singer, it highlighted the beating she suffered at the hands of the singer during sex and then listed 14 separate sexual assaults she suffered during the walk down the aisle of the bus. Our singer thought she was bluffing about filing a lawsuit and basically ignored repeated letters from the lawyer. Then, after about six months, the proposed lawsuit was mailed over along with declarations from six other women who had suffered through the bus walk after rough sex with the singer. They were also all prepared to sue. Last month, the singer wrote a check for $1M to each of the women. His wife still has no idea.

Kidnapped Las Vegas Woman Found In Van In New Mexico

New Mexico law enforcement officials jailed two men Tuesday evening after the abduction of a Las Vegas woman from an apartment complex Monday morning.

Jack William Morgan, 31, of Arlington, Texas, and 19-year-old Samuel Lee Brown of Phenix City, Alabama, were arrested on first-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment and conspiracy charges and booked into Santa Fe County Detention Center about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to jail records.

New Mexico State Police officers had been on the lookout for a white Chevrolet Uplander when they spotted a vehicle fitting that description about 11 p.m. Monday near Espanola, about 25 miles north of Santa Fe, Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo said in a release. Inside they found a 28-year-old woman who was bound with chains - padlocked around her body - and had handcuffs around her wrist.

The woman, identified as 28-year-old Jane Priebe, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
On Monday morning, Las Vegas police learned about 10:30 a.m. of a possible abduction and responded to an apartment complex at 4201 S. Decatur Blvd., Metro spokesman Danny Cordero said. The woman was wearing only her undergarments and appeared to have been bound and then dragged to the vehicle.

Police are investigating whether the abduction was random or those responsible knew the victim.

 

Woman Tells Date She Is A Serial Killer - Tries To Kill HIm

A Washington woman arrested on attempted murder charges told police she wanted to become a serial killer and had planned on eating her victim’s heart.

Lynnwood police were called to a Walgreen’s store where the victim, a 29-year-old man, had fled after being stabbed at a motel.

The man said he had been stabbed in the chest by a woman he had met on Craigslist for “friendship and possible dating.” They ended up at the Rodeo Inn, where he paid for a room.

The victim told police that he and the 24-year-old woman were lying on the bed, and as they talked, she asked him several times if he was a serial killer.

Each time, he responded “no.” According to police documents, after the man told her “no” the last time, the woman climbed on top of him and said, "Well, I am a serial killer!"

She then grabbed a pocket knife from the counter where she had placed it earlier, opened it and stabbed him in the chest, police said.

The victim was able to fight her off and then fled to get help. He was later taken to a hospital with a small wound in his pectoral muscle.

Meanwhile, additional Lynnwood officers found the suspect in the motel parking lot, where she was detained. A knife was found in her pocket, police said.

When the officer who interviewed the victim asked her what had occurred that evening, she replied, "I'm a loon," that she wanted to become a serial killer, and planned to kill the victim with a knife, arrest documents said.

Last week I saw that tickets were still on sale for a show from this 80's Welsh band. They liked to consider themselves punk. I guess they were. Definitely 120 Minutes was their sweet spot but that was not really punk. Anyway, for the last 25 years or so they found a new way to pick up women. They were tired of playing shows and then only seeing the same groupies night after night getting back stage. They didn't trust their roadies to find attractive women, so they figured out a novel plan. Before they played a show they would have a meet and greet with everyone who was there at a certain time. Someone would keep track of all the woman found attractive and those women would be invited on stage at some point during the show and then shuttled off to backstage after a quick grind. The road manager would then ask if the women were interested in partying with the band backstage and in the bus and their hotel rooms. If the woman said yes, they got a backstage pass. If she said no, she was escorted back out front. The band still does it the same way now. They make it seem more high and mighty than a meet and greet, but it is the same long con they have been running for decades. It looks like they had one top 40 record in the US and shockingly enough they look to have had more success in the US rather than in their home country. They were part of the foundation of my history in music but they still are a bunch of pretentious f**ks to be doing the same thing on tour this year as they did back in the day. Come to think of it, they were pretentious back in the day too.

Police Know Who Killed Wife Of Righteous Brother Singer In 1976

More than four decades after the ex-wife of Righteous Brothers singer Bill Medley was raped and killed, officials announced Monday they used DNA to identify a suspect in the slaying: a man who was killed by police in 1982.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell said investigators believe Kenneth Eugene Troyer was responsible for the January 1976 slaying of Karen Klaas. The 32-year-old was attacked Jan. 30, 1976, as she returned to her home in the Hermosa Beach neighborhood, was sexually assaulted and strangled with her pantyhose. She never regained consciousness and died a few days later at the hospital. Investigators used a controversial DNA testing technique, known as familial DNA, to compare a sample of DNA that was collected at the crime scene and were able to identify a "first-degree relative" of Troyer, Sheriff's Capt. Steve Katz said.

Officials would not identify the relative and would only say the sample they used was in a state database of convicted felons. The technique, which has raised ethical issues in the forensics community, allows investigators to search law enforcement databases to identify likely relatives of the person who may have committed the crime. Law enforcement officials have argued the technique can provide investigators with valuable leads.

"Because of the familial DNA search, detectives were able to link Troyer's DNA and positively confirm his identity as the killer," McDonnell said Monday as he stood alongside Medley and more than a dozen other law enforcement officials. "Familial DNA search is the only reason Troyer was identified in this horrific crime."

Troyer, who had been suspected of committing several other sexual assaults in California, was shot and killed by police after escaping from a California prison in 1982, McDonnell said. As investigators began to hone in on him as a possible suspect last year, they were able to obtain a sample of his DNA that was held in the Orange County coroner's office and conclusively link him to Klaas' slaying, Katz said.

The arrest brought closure to a family that has struggled with questions for decades, Medley told reporters at a news conference Monday. "It's been something we've been hoping for and speculating about for 40 years and all of a sudden they say, `We got him and here's who did it,"' Medley said. "It's just nice to be able to close the book on this."
