Blind Item #8 - Her Time As A Tween - Part 2
Yesterday I introduced you to a former tween actress who was horribly abused while appearing on a tween show which aired on a tween network. She had one more story to share about her time on what was supposed to be the lead in a fairly big budget movie. Instead of being the lead though, her role was reduced to almost nothing. Why? The mother of the not even quite a tween actress who got the lead role not only offered up her daughter but also several other tweens she said she managed. Our actress has no idea what transpired or if there was anything that went on, but does know she had the role one day and nothing the next. She also saw with her own eyes the attention an actor and some producers and crew were giving specifically to the lead and these three other uncredited tween actresses who would normally have little to no interaction with those people.
When she told her parents, they complained. Guess what happened? Our actress landed a decent sized role in a movie a couple of years later but it was financed by a family friend. Other than that she was blackballed. No matter how many auditions she went on, she didn't even get a callback. She retired well before she could even drive.

Yesterday's blind about this indicated the actress was in 2 episodes, not one. I still don't want to play guess the victim, but a lot of guesses were based on 1 episode credits, not 2.
ReplyDeleteAlso, watching the Texans definitely did not lead to the positivity I was hoping
You're right, @Don. I reread it a bunch of times. At first I thought they cut her appearance short to just that one episode, but it does seem like they got footage for a 2nd episode from her.
ReplyDeleteOK. I still looked at a couple 2 ep actresses. This is a sad, hopefully incorrect guess.
ReplyDeleteIsabella Astor has a 2 ep credit on iCarly. The only big(?) film she is credited in after is Opposite Day (2009). The lead actress (who would have about 10 at the time) was Ariel Winter, from Modern Family. Ariel sued for emancipation from her mother when she was 14 years old:
"From age 7, Winter recalls, she was sexualized — dressed in "the smallest miniskirts, sailor suits, low-cut things, the shortest dresses you've ever seen. People thought I was 24 when I was 12. If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand percent said yes."

WOW....Thanks Don
DeleteI was also thinking Isabella Astor....she's the only one who fits that I can find so far.
ReplyDeleteWoa wait, let me get this straight...are we implying Ariel Winter is the girl w/ the mom who offered her up to the producers? O_o
ReplyDeleteIt would make sense though given as to how she dresses. It's unfortunate that she looks like a stripper and not like a famous actress on a hit tv show.
And openly hates her mom!!
DeleteNo. She was the other lead

ReplyDeleteI hate Hollywood so much these days. When I was a tween, I auditioned for a major tv show but could t handle the rejection. Now I thank god that I didn’t get that part and had my dreams crushed.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between her role on Modern Family and her real life persona are so wildly different. The revealing clothes could be a way of not being typecast as the nerdy, frumpy girl, or a result of being objectified so much she feels the need to be "sexy" to keep the attention of producers/directors/casting agents?
ReplyDelete(Again, I feel bad playing the guess the victim game, but here I am anyway. I think it's the idea there are still so many abusers working that keeps drawing me back in)
Isabella Astor does seem to fit. Gross if it's Ariel Winter from Opposite Day as she was just 11. I know that fits the mold of 'tweener' but man does this make me feel dirty. WTF is wrong with people?
ReplyDeleteGlue: Isn't Ariel Winter the actress who took her parents to court? It might be a good idea for her to sign up for classes and prepare herself for a real future. She needs to get a professional team around her to figure out what area she should study for. A year or so ago I predicted (on another site) she would end up living and working in Israel with young people there. It would bring her enormous happiness on many levels. Her talents would be welcome.
ReplyDeleteYes, this one all makes sense.
ReplyDeleteAriel Winter played an 8-year old in that movie. Disgusting.
Pauly Shore was in that film too. Guessing he's the "actor" they are talking about.

ReplyDeleteAriel is NOT the one who was given up by her mom and/or starred in the 1 random movie and then retired.
ReplyDeleteAriel is (if correct guess) the other lead on that kids show who got extra attention from the actor and producers
Keep up the pressure on Nickelodeon! Get this video out there to EVERYONE you can!

Any possibility this could be Kristin Lisa Herrera? She was fired from Zoey 101 and replaced by Victoria Justice. Apparently she was told that she "looked too old" to play the part and was "unceremoniously let go" per her Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteShe also left the industry (or may have been black-balled) shortly after the firing from Zoey...
