Blind Item #4

It is going to be really interesting when the drug testing companies catch on to the drug masking used last year by this A+ list baseball player.

  3. Baseball is for the olds... HA! I kid. But seriously no one cares.

  4. I love baseball, too. Question though: what is it about baseball players always getting busted for drugs?

Is it because they are allowed to be out of shape? ie: When you get a "sub" for a hitter because his fat as can't make it to first base, me thinks it's time to start exercising. At least make them run a mile or two every practice. Get them off their asses and do something besides standing around throwing and catching.

  5. I care. Stanton?

  6. Khaleesi, Nutty Flavor, just because he's been in the papers a lot this weekend my guess is Giancarlo "Mike" Stanton. Anyone else and I think it would be a major, major stretch to think people on here would care about it/have heard about it.

  7. I care, I am an avid fan of baseball and softball, thank you. My son and his team just won the World Series in softball. And I am and always will be a die-hard Yankee fan.
I have one thing about all this, sports stars get paid HUGE money to be the best. Most of the time they must blay with injuries most of us would not even be able to get out of bed with. They do not have that luxury, especially in baseball. In years past they were drugged constantly to keep them in the game.
I really hope this is Verlander.. .;)

  8. I agree with your speculation, Joe. Super intriguing.

  9. I do agree it is probably Stanton, not a fan of the trade. at ALL. but then i have been not happy with the Yankees this off-season so far.. lol.

  10. Glue, in regard to baseball players getting busted, I think part of it has to do with the intense substance testing they undergo. I think it is more thorough and regular than other pro sports. Ever since the so-called "steroid era" (roughly late 80s to mid-90s) there have been many fans, owners, sportswriters, commissioners, etc. clamoring for hardcore testing because, among other things, so many of their beloved childhood heroes' records were smashed during this period.

  11. Stanton, and he is going to be ARod 2.0. Yankee fan, hate the trade, the new young crop was showing promise. Hate the manager situation as well. @Glue, the drug use in football and basketball are covered up better, very obvious they are using steroids and other drugs by their behavior issues.

  12. This must be Stanton, since he was obviously all over the news this weekend.

Miami is a hotbed for steroids, and he's been there for a while. I think he'll be a bust in NY.

  13. Hope it's not Verlander. He came from us, Detroit Tigers. We were so sad to see him leave, but we knew he needed to be somewhere to finally start winning World Series Games. He's getting older, chances of getting hurt increase.

  14. I care about baseball.

Please don't let it be one of our Astros.

  15. @Guesser I so agree. I hated the trade, i mean maybe if it was for Sanchez, but Starlin was always so amazing in the clutch, and a class guy. We were doing so well, and then Cash just gets his ego bruised, gets rid of an amazing manager, I really hope we can continue with what we started this year, but man..
I have no issues with Verlander btw, i only said please let it be him, because he is a great pitcher. grrrr. And I can personally never be an Astros fan.

  16. @Truthseeker I don't know anything about what's going on behind the scenes, but I do find it very interesting that Derek Jeter and Co. are the new owners of the Marlins. I hadn't realized it until just now. Hey, at least you guys didn't deal away Didi Gregorious. But, yeah, I agree with you, it would have been nice to cut down on some of the strikeouts in that lineup. Judge, Sanchez, Stanton: strikeout or homerun.

  17. Definitely Stanton.

  18. Stanton is the best bet. The entire Astros, Trumbo, Pujols, Votto, Yankee's kid. Lesser would be Harper, Blackmon. Any number of Cubs and Red Sox, the stat guys pick out steroid users unintentionally. Look at the As.

  19. I really don't hope its Stanton, he has that natural look to him and he is tall.

  20. If it is Stanton, it may not save the new ownership from criticism over dumping salaries, but it will revive Jeter's reputation.

  21. Good point Jospeh. I forgot about all the 'roid craziness back in the 90's and I remember a lot of die hard baseball fans were crushed to find out their baseball heroes weren't true to the game.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Definitely Giancarlo Stanton. He won this year's NL MVP title in a close race with Paul Goldschmidt, so yeah it'll be very interesting if he's caught cheating.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The ones who were crushed were clueless. You dont go from 190 to 240 like a Sammy Sosa w/o the gas.

Probably meant to be Stanton. Would really suck if thr Yankees got hung with someone else's roided up trash again.

  24. Only way this blind gets here is if it's Stanton. Not hard to believe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love baseball, and am a huge Angels fan. Trout + Ohtani = true baseball love!

My guess also is Stanton. He fits the profile, and has been in the news lately. The only other player with as much press lately is Ohtani, and he's the real deal. I haven't heard of any steroid usage in Japan.

  26. @I totally forgot about jeter and the Marlins! If Jeter was roided up,he would have have had put up some great numbers, and unloading Stanton would be just like him. Thanks, can't wait for the headlines.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jeter wasnt juiced. Dude hit 20hrs 3x in his career. Besides the fact he aint subject to any testing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Was gonna guess Arnoldis Chapman, but I think the blind would have said "foreign born" if it was him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Plus I don't think I would consider Chapman "A-list".

Current A list baseball players I think I would limit to this list:
    Harper
    Trout
    Stanton
    Kershaw
    Altuve
    Bryant
    Judge
    Verlander
    Rizzo
    Posey

    1. Based on that list it is clearly Altuve. No one small enough that he could date Mena Suvari should be capable of what he does in the batter's box.

  30. Love baseball! And baseball players!

    Football can rot, though. Yuck.

  31. I think I would be personally hurt if this was Verlander . please reveal this so my soul may be at peace

    ReplyDelete
  32. Add me to the list of:

    -Vote for Stanton
-Wtf? We seriously got rid of Girardi and hired Aaron &@?!ing Boone?!
    -Screw Verlander and Tits McGee.
    -I miss Castro already.
-So many strikeouts are going to happen, I’m already having nightmares.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @ Count, you misunderstood me, I meant he unloaded a juiced player, because he never did. I meant If he had,it would have been something to see.Jeter probably one of a very few that didn't. A lot of angry Yankee fans here today! Sorry if I wasn't clear , stupid auto correct changed Jeter to meter like six times!

  34. Thanks to all of you who chimed in and proved the first few commenters wrong, in regards to no one caring about baseball! :)
