This A list celebrity chef who is NOT foreign born doesn't have the cash for anything except to settle potential claims against him for child molestation. Now you know why there was a very recent transaction.
It has not surprised me to find some of the worst people to rise in my industry. I have been gobsmacked by industry "stars" character deficits. Believe me it is not exclusive to television stars. For some reason this industry breeds contemptible characters.
Once this became apparent to me, I proceeded with my career in positions where I was in charge or alone. I knew that I would run a fair and equitable kitchen. This industry needs a major ethics overhaul.
I read once that everyone in Hollywood is looking for love and approval in fame because they come from a broken home. A dysfunctional childhood is often the setting for childhood sexual abuse, which can lead to being an abuser oneself. So there may well be a higher rate per capita than in other industries.
Its obviously Fieri. He's having serious money problems. He just shut down his NY restaurant. There was a blind here not too long ago about him raping kids and paying people off to keep quiet and cover it up.
I find his shows to be unwatchable, but I have to say his recipe for wasabi roasted garlic mashed potatoes is quite delicious - goes very well with grilled tuna (maybe in a honey lime marinade, or something). But now I'm thinking that all those recipes with the strange meats, especially tongue, may be a little disturbing.
I thought the Times Square restaurant was profitable though? Obviously this is supposed to be Fieri but I don't see how closing a popular, profitable restaurant helps. Unless it's some cash flow issues I don't know about.
Krab if it is profitable, then it will seek a high selling price (a good cash infusion for paying off his victims). If it isn't profitable, he can't afford to keep it running if he needs his savings to cut hush checks.
This is a shame, and I realize how disgustingly selfish this is, but the fries at Guy's Burgers is one of the best memories of my Carnival cruise this year and it's sad if that memory is tainted by this being true
@justsaying - It's a pretty good observation. Not all, but certainly a disproportionate percentage of stars come from absolute shitshows of family backgrounds. One can speculate that having zero real family support drives a need for public acclaim (love) or that it simply sets them up for accepting unpleasant realities (casting couch, allowing themselves to accept and dole out unacceptable behaviors) ... who knows, but the pattern is there. Just look at the most current stars. Glamorous and beautiful they may be, but I wouldn't swap families and upbringing with many of them and that's just from knowing the most santized versions of their backgrounds offered up for PR purposes.
Me neither Rinky. Add in the stage moms and what drives them to make their kids go to work so early in such a brutal industry. Money? Living vicariously through their children? Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to work out all that well for most kids, even the ones who do make it big.
The critics weren't particularly kind to Fieri after he broke big and opened that restaurant. I remember reading some pretty negative, nasty reviews in the New York Times. I didn't really know much about him then but I used to think that the criticisms were just envy (because he IS talented) or maybe he had pissed off somebody who has friends in high places. I always thought there was something strange about him---a middle aged dude acting and dressing like a 16 year old boy---with the hair and clothes and jewelry.
I'm wondering what his game plan is. He's breaking the lease on the property 10 years early which looks to me like he's digging himself into yet another hole. He should have tried harder to get somebody to sublease the space. Its smack in the middle of Time Square where wealthy Manhattanites love to go out to eat before or after taking in a show. And where a lot of businesspeople who work in the Midtown area are always looking for places to have lunch meetings. How a celebrity chef can lose money in a location like that is a wonder.
Unless he has a really good lawyer to negotiate a deal he's going to be on the hook for $18 million that he had agreed to pay the landlord from here on out in rent. And I don't think that he should expect too much in the way of concessions from this landlord. Why? Because the landlord (who is none other than Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka and son-in-law of POTUS) needs many, many millions to pay off the mortgage on his 5th Avenue skyscraper in a few years.
"Its smack in the middle of Time Square where wealthy Manhattanites love to go out to eat before or after taking in a show."
Uh. No. Actual Manhattanites aren't caught dead in such a place. Manhattanites go to the many decent restaurants in the area for pre and post theater dinners, not chain tourist traps. And businesspeople as well. It would be freaking embarrassing to have a business lunch meeting there.
Businesses like this are rarely wholly owned by the celebrity. My guess is his investors know what's coming and shuttered it fast before they hemorrhage money the way he is.

This pedo stuff is just disgusting. I hope they're all exposed and promptly executed. I don't even care if my heroes are revealed to be in the mix. No mercy for child molesters.
So Guy Fieri is on the chopping block because of CM charges? That's interesting.
If it is Fieri, maybe this has bigger implications. I remember reading an AMA on reddit a few years ago from someone who claimed to work in the kitchen at Bohemian Grove. It was a small AMA that didn't get much attention, but the guys story sounded legit. He listed Guy Fieri as one of the famous people he's seen at the Grove, along with Tom Cruise and a few others.
These kinds of illicit activities have been rumored to go down at BG since forever, and being a member of the Grove, or even just a guest means he's rubbed elbows with some very powerful people that go beyond showbiz. Now I'm not saying he's some illuminati master chef, but if the CM charges are true, maybe he's more closely connected to some of the crazier shit CDAN is trying to expose than anyone realizes.
I tend not to believe any of the Fieri blinds. It was established long ago that a producer he stopped working with started spreading all kinds of shit, especially about how he's a homophobe and anti-Semitic. And yet, none of that's true, so no, I don't think he's raping kids either.
My guess is Video. I was watching one of his cooking shows and he had a guest who had a vineyard or restraint in the Napa Valley. There was some strange fly under the radar comments between the two. It rattled me and hairs went up. If people have gaydar can kids who have been molested have paedar? His son a few of the friends were there. I just got this distinct feeling about Hunter. Someone else said in a thread that they were watching Guy's show where he took his son to Europe. I picked up on the same thing, something amiss. This was about 4 years ago or more and as Guy Video is a nobody in Australia there is no gossip about him. Until I saw this. I am going with my gut on this
bobby flay?
ReplyDeleteGuy Fieri?

DeleteGuy Fieri doesn´t like jews. So probably the big rich jews are framing him with this pedo shit. Just like they did with MJ. Oy vey!

ReplyDeleteNY. Times gave the restaurant a zero rating.

ReplyDelete@Glitter, agreed. And not even an entertaining troll.

The Times review was one of the funniest things ever.

However, Fieri isn't selling anything, just shutting it down. So he won't realize any cash from it.

ReplyDeleteGuy is tied to the rebooted version of the Planet Hollywood restaurant at Disney Springs in Florida. It also gets horrid reviews.
