Pepperoni is a must, but I can go crazy on toppings at places like Blaze.
Favorite chain for NY style while outside of NY is Mulberry (hey, they have a few locations) but gawd they are expensive for what you get and have been skimpy as hell on the toppings lately.
Favorite deep dish west of Chicago is Zach's (Zachary's Pizza) on the border of Berkeley and the biggity biggidy Oak town.
Favorite gourmet/authentic is Mozza. That one with the fennel sausage is to die for.
I am still partial to Pizza Hut, i love the grease in their crust, which is why i do rarely buy them, but especially now with the Premium crushed tomato sauce and the Hut Favorite crust. I like Bacon, Roma Tomatoes and Black Olives. But we usually only get Pepperoni cuz that is hubby's favorite,
The Regina Margherita at Vecchia Pizzaria, Phoenixville, PA. Written up in every newspaper in the Philadelphia region as one of the greatest pies you will ever eat anywhere!
I should have remembered but I'm an idiot. I order deep dish Lou Malnati's and Giordano's deep dish Chicago pizzas via online shipping and they are GREAT and about what they cost in the restaurants.y'all should try them, seriously.
I love any veggies on my pizza, except for fresh tomatoes. If I'm going to have meat, it will probably be ham. Don't really like any chains, but Blaze is pretty good.
I no longer live in new york but in NE. The pizza here sucks massively and i hardly ever eat pizza anymore. Cheese and sausage topping are good. The pizza chains, every one of them are disgusting. I dont how anybody cld eat that crap
From someone who has lived in Milan during university, and still travels to Italy regularly for work:
American Pizza is only edible when you're both drunk and stoned, and you don't care what you shove into your gob, otherwise it's revolting. Heavy, greasy, fatty, and with an artificial taste of cheap factory. And people who put pineapple on their pizza, should be tied to a tree and battered with rolling pins and have a sizeable pineapple shoved up their behinds. Real Italians would most probably ask for harsher punishment, but I like the US overall, so I'm being kind.
Chain is Papa John's because the other chains in Florida blow
ReplyDeleteI like sausage peppers and mushrooms as a combo pepperoni by itself as toppings.
We all know why u really like papa johns and it's not for their bland pizza. Give me a break.
DeleteI tried working at a pizza parlor after CNN fired me. Luigi, my boss, was not happy with me though. He said I had mushroom for improvement.
ReplyDeleteZ Pizza. I love their pad thai pizza.

Pepperoni from Dominos...I know, but you know you eat that more than you care to admit!
ReplyDeleteThere's a pizza parlor in the northwest of Las Vegas we frequented before I decided to lose weight.
ReplyDeleteIt's called Sabitino's and the pepperoni and black olive pizza is very good.

ReplyDeleteI love pizza with sausage, green peppers, and onion, but the best pizza I ever had was called the Veggie Starburst Deluxe at Star Pizza in Houston.
ReplyDeleteThe best deep dish is Gino's in Chicago or Jet's. Cleveland Pizza Company is good, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is wrong with the site? Can't load just getting a black page.
ReplyDeleteBy far my local pizzeria. Mushrooms are always a must!! Pepperoni and sausage works too.
ReplyDeletepineapple and jalapenos....drool <3 my brother owns a pizza restaurant in LA and it's seriously one of the best. obviously IMHO :)
ReplyDeleteJalapeños too. Quattro formaggi with jalapeños. I don't have a favourite chain/restaurant. 🍕👩🏻🧀
DeleteAnd dried tomatoes. 🍅
DeleteOlives and mushrooms. Campisi's in Dallas for local, Pizza Hut for national.
ReplyDeleteGino's East, well west for me now!!. Pepperoni, onion, black olive.
ReplyDeleteWho even orders pizza from a chain?

Pizza chains?!?! Disgrazia. I have a homemade one in the oven as we speak.
ReplyDeleteFave toppings: Prosciutto, arugula, fresh tomatoes. Everything, really.
I should have remembered but I'm an idiot. I order deep dish Lou Malnati's and Giordano's deep dish Chicago pizzas via online shipping and they are GREAT and about what they cost in the restaurants.y'all should try them, seriously.
ReplyDeleteChicago wins pizza war for me, Sandybrook knows!.
DeleteMy local pizza place is much better than chains, but if I had to go with one, it would be Papa John's, and sausage and onion.

ReplyDeleteCostco is good for cheap eats. Prefer Filippi's or Bronx Pizza in Hillcrest...garlic pesto yummm.
ReplyDeleteDante’s Pizza, Florence Italy.. or my mama’s - hers is the best. At Dante’s I love margherita - maybe its boring but its my favourite thing.
ReplyDeleteS'barros.(sp?)Haven't had it in years since it closed down in my mall. It is only for nostalgical reasons i think that i like it.
ReplyDeleteI no longer live in new york but in NE. The pizza here sucks massively and i hardly ever eat pizza anymore. Cheese and sausage topping are good. The pizza chains, every one of them are disgusting. I dont how anybody cld eat that crap
ReplyDeleteLedo's pizza. Original restaurant was in Adelphi, Maryland outside of Washington DC.
