Blind Items Revealed #4

November 8, 2017

This A+ list mostly movie actor is driving producers crazy with his wishy washiness about continuing to play a superhero in various movies. I'm sure they would love to replace him because no one likes him as the character but it would cost them a bunch of money and they would have to quickly find a replacement.

Ben Affleck

  1. It's kind of strange that Justice League is coming out and there really has been no publicity done for it, the 2 reviews I've seen aren't good. Plus I've heard Rotten Tomatoes is holding back on posting what they have for their site. Bens career is somewhat in trouble now, he's bloated and old not a lead.

  2. Michael Keaton and Christian Bale Batmans are the only decent DC movies since Superman2. It is sad how they constantly botch everything.

  3. A DCEU movie that sucks? colour me surprised. Still, i thought batfleck was a better bruce wayne than bale.

  5. In what weird universe is Affleck anyone's idea of a super hero? Even his kids probably think he's a twat.

It's like Dad Dancing. But on a global scale. My toes curl. It's like watching Madonna desperately holding on to her sexy past with her crone hands.

  6. Affleck is determined to kill his career. Since i dont care for him, i dont mind!

  7. Maybe they should do what they did with Wonder Woman, use someone not as well known, if it works, everyone wins,if not, look elsewhere.

  9. Im still shocked that Affleck's career has come this far. Never found him attractive, never thought he was a good actor, and I always felt he came off as a douchebag. Ugh remember before he fixed his teeth??? nice to know my radar is good!!

  10. Batman will always be MichAel Keaton or Adam West. Clooney was probably the second most ridiculous choice, surpassed only by Ben Affleck.

  11. @american panda, totally agree. He is an overweight slob. Never saw the attraction of Pitt either. Another slob.

  12. I'm probably the only one on this site who used to even like Ben Affleck. He's not a very good actor, but I like the characters he played in The Company Men and Gone Girl. I liked the B and C-rated stuff he did back in the 80 and 90s. Seems the bigger he got the douchier he got as well. Now affectionately known to all as Buttman. A shame!

I'm wondering if this is an automatic script for successful Hollywood actors...alcohol, coke, whores, treating their wives (husbands) like crap.
For a while, they gain the whole world but lose their souls in the process.

  13. @ Marlin, I've never really cared all that much about the different individuals who played Batman. I would agree that Adam West was probably the best of the lot. All of them (except Affleck) were good. But Batman, to me was neither about Batman nor Bruce Wayne. It was about the whole show. My favorite iteration of the character was in the 1960s TV show. It was original, funny, over-the-top. I still watch the episodes on MeTV and crack up every time at the Joker's and Catwoman's ridiculous antics. None of the movie versions even come close.

Its a very, very, very bad thing to get fat and old when you're a big star. Unfortunately for Affleck, he's hitting both bells right now.

  14. @john doe , totally agree with both comments. The tv Batman and it’s campy humor still makes you laugh and all the characters and villians were perfectly cast. As far as the Hollywood script, how sad to sell your soul to be rich and famous. I’ll take my poor life any day.

  15. Am I the only one who remembers Ben Affleck is the patron saint of CDAN?

    1. No, Lego Batman is the patron saint.

  16. @Marlin - yes on Pitt too although when he was with Aniston he wasn't as smelly looking lol. That body in Fight CLub - mmmmmm
@john Doe - word - these dudes are so predictable its like rinse and repeat I'm surprised that shit doesn't get old to them. Keaton and West ALL THE WAY all day as Batman. Christian Bale is a close second. I am trying to delete the Clooney Batman movie from my brain still.

  17. Ben is dead weight. Clearly he doesn't take any of it seriously and thinks it's a chore. Loves the money and the relevance tho. Poor Benji. Now he's made a joke about sexual harassment. He won't be batty for long. {Bale's Batman's Best}

  18. @John Doe - Eartha Kitt's catwoman is still legendary and Michelle Pfeiffer did the role major justice. I loved watching the AW Batman when I was a kid.

  19. Bale will go down as best Batman at the end of the day, and Ledger the best joker. Those films were colossal. Bale will easily eclipse Keaton in the mainstream as the population ages (he easily already has for those under 35), and I feel that Ledger's performance just makes Nicholson's look campy by comparison. I would argue that Ledger already eclipsed Nicholson in popular culture.

While Ben was never going to be a good Batman, the main problem here is rebooting the character so soon after the Dark Knight juggernaut of commercial success AND critical acclaim. DC had to do it to compete with Marvel, but anybody dumb enough to try to follow Bale/Nolan/Ledger would have tanked in that role. We're just too close in time culturally to Nolan's trilogy and anybody stepping into that universe was going to be unfavorably compared. See also: Jared Leto.

  20. Aw, no one has remembered Val Kilmer’s Batman! Poor Val... DC should have just stuck with Wonder Woman movies and forgot the rest. Her movie is the only good thing to have come out of the “DCU”.

  23. "no one likes him as the character"

You're saying no one likes Affleck's Batman? Utter bullshit. I've never been an Affleck fan but he's definitely the best Batman so far.
