Blind Items Revealed #4 - Anniversary Month

April 30, 2013

This actress used to be A list. Maybe even A+ list. An Academy Award winner/nominee. Everyone always thinks it was one thing that brought her down to B- list, but it really wasn't. Although she has talked about some things in her past, she has never discussed what really brought her down. About a decade ago now she was confronted by her past. She had forgotten part of her life and only when she went through therapy did it come out. As a pre-teen she had been molested by a close family friend. A neighbor who would watch her after school. She says that for almost an entire year, she was subject to his advances with no one there to protect her and he had her alone everyday after school for several hours. After she discovered her past, she was unable to work. She was unable to cope. Drugs, especially prescription ones became her life. She numbed herself for years and watched her star slowly fade. She had no interest in guys and when she would date, it was because her friends forced her too. She has not been with a guy in many years and says she can't stomach the idea of being with anyone after what she remembered. Her career is starting to resurrect itself and she has spent time in mental institutions over the years. She has slowly weaned herself off all drugs and says she is starting to actually feel alive again. Still nowhere in sight she says though is any relationship with any guy other than being friends.

  1. That is horrible!
I liked her, I haven't seen her in anything recently but for that to happen to her, no wonder she turned to drugs.

  5. Oh no.. she's always been one of my most favs too. She has somewhat of a little girl lost aura about her. Maybe this has something to do with it.

  8. I am happy for her.

I know it was only a small part, but I loved her as Spock's mother in the Star Trek movie. I was really happy to see her in that.

  11. I always really liked her. Heathers in particular was a standout. Glad to see her back with Stranger Things.

Her absence in all the endless Netflix Stranger Things 'making of' and interviews that you could watch after the second series is glaring though. Not only was she the only main actor missing it seemed like no-one was really allowed to reference working with her either. I wonder if her contracts state she doesn't have to do any of the promo stuff and that the others aren't allowed to discuss working with her?

  17. Her parents were good friends with a famous poet who was also a suspected pedophile. I can't remember his name.

  18. BS she's had the same boyfriend since 2011. A couple of years before that she was Almost engaged to the guy from Rilo Kiley.

  19. @fufu .. yeah, her family were friends with Allen Ginsburg who was a member of NAMBLA, ffs. The counter-culture really were utter filth in many ways.

  20. winona's godfather is timothy leary, of 60's lsd fame. there are some distubing photos of them together...they remind me of donald and ivanka.
google image search for winona ryder and timothy leary

  21. The "close family friend" could be LSD guru Tim Leary - he was Winona's godfather, died in 1996, and there's a number of creepy af pictures of him and young Winona...

FWIW, Winona's dad is the curator of Timothy Leary's collected library of writings.

It definitely puts Stranger Things' MKULTRA subplot in a whole new light...

  22. If Allen Ginsburg was a member of NAMBLA, then it couldn't have been him.

  24. Don't be too sure. Dinsburg had many relationships with women before he finally settled with a dude. He could easily be bisexual as well as into both adults and children. Some people literally will fuck anything from 6 to 60. Anyone who advocates for no age of consent laws probably doesn't have many scruples about in who and where he sticks it. Plenty of pedos will abuse boys and girls.

  25. Ginsburg, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Still, were either Leary or Ginsburg, dodgy as they may have been, actually neighbours? Could just as easily be someone who was never famous at all.

  27. could be rinky, did you see the google image search above? the blind says she didn't realize she was being abused til she was in therapy 10 years ago, which could explain her affectionate poses with leary (who looks very inappropriate in them.

  28. @Rinky, I grew up in the SouthBay with a lot of teachers who were former hippies, they were decent folks. However, they told me that a lot cults and sicko’s used the counterculture as cover for their messed up practices. For some reason, a lot of that was happening in the NorthBay. Maybe because it was fairly rural back then. Winona’s from Petaluma, which is considered the sticks so, a good place for a pedophile to hide.

  29. It's the so-open-minded-our-brains-fell-out part of the culture that attracts them and the whole 'no judgement' deal that helps to excuse them once entrenched. It's the same in all crank subcultures and the reason that creeps are always present in far larger numbers than elsewhere. The fact that an open NAMBLA member is still somehow considered a super-cool, counter-culture 'hero' and his NAMBLA membership a mere sidenote, speaks to that.

  30. i remember winona coming out and offering a huge reward for the safe return of polly klaas, who was kidnapped in petaluma, too.

  31. Love Winona. I hope she's pulls out of her funk and blooms. I'm glad that she's working now, but I don't believe her being sober. The faces she made in those pictures is not a sober individual. I wish her well. Love you Winona! <3

  32. I met Winona about a dozen years ago at a karaoke bar in Burbank. She was at a table with some guy, my friend decided to write a note on a napkin, drop it on her table as she walked by and kept walking. What can I say, she'd been drinking. When Winona was leaving, she made a point of coming to our table to thank my friend and chatted with us for a few minutes. She couln't have been nicer and she was GORGEOUS, her face was flawless. So I'm always rooting for her and very happy that she's found success on such a popular show.
