It's a little ironic what this B+ List actress is in the news for this month. A colleague from the cable show that launched her says when she left the show unofficially -- still featured in the credits and her name on the show, yet only working a day or two per month, if that -- to pursue network opportunities, she used texts from the president of the company that owned the cable network to "persuade" him to pay her entire contract despite the fact she no longer showed up for work. The actress threatened to show the texts to the president's wife.
Megan Markle?
ReplyDeleteOooooh, Snap!!!

ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that she is not a lady to be trifled with. She is a social climber and good at it.
ReplyDeleteMarkle rubs me the wrong way. She seems the type that loves the publicity and calls the paps on her and Harry. I hope Harry knows what he's doing.
ReplyDelete+10000 on that @Sandy
DeleteNot Meghan Markle. She is in the news every month and will continue to be and is not pursuing network opportunities. She is not going to risk becoming a princess by blackmailing anyone for her contract which was up anyway. I think she was pretty honorable to live up to it until the end. I would also think the network is very happy with the publicity she has garnered for them.
ReplyDeleteWhoever it is...gotta give her props for turning the tables on a president who probably always gets what they want.
ReplyDeleteMeghan Kelly?
ReplyDelete+1 Sandy
ReplyDeleteI want to like her, but do not. Too many Wallis Simpson vibes.
Well both kate and diana were social climbers as well. Kate's mom made sure she went to st andrew's just for the chance to hook up with will. Good luck to her. Besides, i'll bet the show got more ratings thanks to her association.
ReplyDeleteKatie Cassidy? -- in the news due to her father's death.
ReplyDeletelongtimereader,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Kate, but she pursued him for 10 years or more. My internal moral compass gives her a pass for that. Plus, there are photos of William w other very attractive girls on boys' trips, so I assume she must be resigned that he is free to do as he wishes, but she cannot. To me that would be hell, however, she gets to be a princess and future queen so there is that.
Diana, to me, was a child from a completely dysfunctional home. I think she was very naive. I feel sorry for her.
Meghan Markle on Suits (Cable, not TV show), which debuted in June of 2011, on the USA Network. USA was owned by NBC Universal and during 2011, Comcast became majority owner of NBC Universal. But according to the blind, it was "the president of the company that owned the cable network" not the president of the company that owned the company... SO I assume it was the President of NBC Universal in 2011 in the blind.
ReplyDeleteThe President vs CEO title confuses me a bit (I'm still on my first cup of coffee), but Steve Burke was/is CEO (president) of NBC Universal and Exec VP at Comcast. Jeff Zucker would have reported directly to him (although Zucker was out in 2010 - and at CNN in 2013)
It probably is Katie Cassidy. Markle would be incredibly stupid to pull something like that when it could ruin her life as well.
ReplyDeleteI just assumed it was a dig at Rose McGowan and Charmed. (I don’t know if that was network or cable)
ReplyDeleteNo matter how many people work, it is important - how much a person earns. Also, people who work for verification are very few, in fact, they work very much. Ask the freelancers.
ReplyDelete@AIP Charmed originally aired on The WB, a wannabe network I guess.
ReplyDeleteNot Rose McGowan?
DeleteWhat cable show was Katie Cassidy in?
ReplyDeleteSuits gonna need to replace that ass. If they want to pop the ratings, they should change the name to Great Asses In Pencil Skirts.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Scottie's waxed bunghole is glorious.
Let's not bring Wallis Warfield Simpson Windsor into this conversation about Ms. Markle. Bessie Wallis (her real name)came from an old, established American family. I cannot imagine what Christmas is going to be like at Balmoral this year with the impending engagement announcement. This young lady is so wrong for so many reasons. She really could have worn something more appropriate when she joined Harry at The Games recently. But, hey, it's the new millennial and anything goes.
ReplyDeleteBoo, You make me laugh! You and my stepmother are the only two people I have every heard defend Mrs. Spencer Simpson Windsor. I guess Markle only has 1 divorce so far, so there's that. I agree with you about MM.
ReplyDeleteIt's not Katie Cassidy. She's not on a cable show, but on an "almost network" show.
ReplyDeleteIt's none of these women. It's someone in the news alleging sexual harassment by a superior. We're going to start seeing a lot more of these reports (not blinds) of the flip side -- the women who happily climbed the ladder by being expert at exchanging sexual favors, those who went one step further and pulled stunts like the one described by Enty, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm not with the majority. I could be wrong, but I like Megan. I like that she does not put on airs. Is comfortable wearing a casual outfit to an outdoor event. She's modern and fresh. As if there aren't any other women who are social climbers in that type of arena. They ALL are. So what?! He's a Prince! You have to be "on that level" to even meet a person like that. She's not some country bumpkin he picked off the side of a road. I like seeing Harry truly happy for once. He looks grounded.
ReplyDeleteThe entire Windsor family is dysfunctional, what's one more? When people talk about Megan, they get extremely snooty. Commenter's on the Daily Mail rip her to shreds. They don't even know her! They act like she'll bring down the Monarchy, ha, they've been doing a fine job of that on their own! I think talking about Charles association with Jimmy Seville and Andrews friendship with Jeffrey Epstein is FAR worse than what Markle could ever bring to the table. Just say it, she's half black and American. THAT'S what the REAL problem is with the people tearing her apart. Let's get real here. They don't like the "dirtying" of their purple waters.
The fact that Harry was willing to do and say so much for MM is very telling in how much he loves her. The romantic in me is satisfied with that. I say leave them alone. I wish them the best.
You're wrong. Megan is basic, go to any Tory Burch store and you'll find ten of her. Take care.
DeleteYes. Bliss boo. You are correct. she will be the most popular Royal since Diana. Lots of jealousy from the dumpy frumps.
DeleteWere you paid by media meg’s PR people?
ReplyDeleteDOG MOM: That's because your grandmother and I are the same age! To come clean on this, my mother-in-law was her cousin. My late husband and I were required to have her photographs prominently displayed in our home. It was quite a conversation starter. Sadly, 50 years later, I still have an autographed photo of her and the Duke on their wedding day in my living room in NYC. Some bad habits never change. I did adore her. Sorry.
ReplyDelete~~
ReplyDeleteI think people should stop acting and get real jobs 😉
ReplyDeleteBooHearn you also think the ktrash girls were fresh and wholesome, and can't wait for everything to pass so Spacey can get back onstage. I remember these things because they were so bizarre, just like your assertion that Sparkles is fresh and modern. Harry is a well known dumbass who will rue the day he approved her Vanity Fair cover story announcing their fresh modern love. Ugh to the lot of them.
ReplyDelete+1k Amy re: this TYPE of blind (I have no idea who the woman and CEO in question are).
ReplyDeleteAlthough victimization by male predators is rife in the entertainment industry and world of corporate business, and sexual favors for roles/tracks/promotions/sponsorship deals is totally unjustifiable, there are a (sizeable?) minority of girls and women who delibetely choose those professions because it's a system they can exploit and benefit from as much as the men. Some might be nymphomaniacs, and I'd wager a lot of them have some sort of cluster b personality disorder, but those are not mitigating circumstances.
I've known several women who've done it repeatedly and become successful, and it makes me feel even sadder for the true victims — the ones who feel they have no other option but to comply with an abuser's demands, and for whom the promises are not always delivered on. Give men in positions of power an inch and they'll take a mile; if there are women who deliberately choose to perpetuate this system, the men running it will use that as an excuse to keep it going. Both the men and the women in question are at fault here. I'm not victim blaming; I'm willing-perpetrator blaming.
Men started this system, so they won't be the ones who want to change it. It's unjust and ludicrous but that's just how it is. Unfortunately, any type of change has to begin with women, and much as I'd love to believe otherwise I doubt any progress will occur if there are still women who voluntarily keep hindering it (but that's what cluster b's do, and I guess unless they all suddenly die out they'll keep playing gatekeeper on the fate of everyone else).
"She is not going to risk becoming a princess by blackmailing anyone for her contract which was up anyway." Princess Diana used to call that "keeping tidy" (those were her words in the documentary built-upon the recordings from her interview back in the that were were recently released in August this year).
ReplyDeleteMarkle doesn't seem to be pursuing network opportunities. Probably just the opposite, she's getting out of tv to be more 'royal' presentable.
ReplyDeleteI like Megan, as little as I pay attention to her. She is not pursuing any TV at all, she's moving to London to do suitable charity work and move into a more public role in UK society. I think she has to be out and about for a full year before they will announce an engagement, so there is still hope for the haters/doubters/detractors that it will still fall apart. He's fifth in line for the throne so who cares anyway.
ReplyDeleteQlivia Munn attack of the show
ReplyDeleteFreakazoid Royal family types. Id rather be comman and poor.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Munn - in the news re: Hollywood sexual harassment, which is ironic given that she is known to willingly do so for roles. Cable show where she got her start = Attack of the Show (cable network G4). From wikipedia:
ReplyDelete"Munn said at the 2010 Comic Con that she would not be leaving AOTS, though she only occasionally appeared on the show for the rest of that year. She was still featured in the opening credits and other AOTS set pieces and transitions until December 6, 2010."
Lindsay - Good guess. I remember that show.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I played a drinking game when Munn was on the show. We noticed she constantly moved her long hair away from her cleavage w/ hair flip or giggle flip. It was pretty much every few minutes if not sooner. It just became a big game for us because that's all she did on the show: giggle and show her breasts. Needless to say, you could get drunk super fast, so that game didn't last long for us especially since I'm not much of a drinker. O_o
Hence I didn't care for her too much when she ventured out bc I didn't see much talent, but will give her props for her role on Newsroom on HBO. I liked her on that show. Too bad they cancelled it (still don't know why good shows get cancelled - it was a good show w/ a lot of good actors - love sam waterston).
sidenote: sorry for the rambling. just had first cappucinno of the day and am typing like a tasmanian.
Olivia Munn, for Attack of the Show. (I've read this blog for almost 2 years now and it's the first time I've ever commented!)
