This A list K-pop singer who is also an actress and a reality star recently split with her celebrity boyfriend after he sexually assaulted her. Apparently he recorded them having sex a few times and if she leaks anything about the assault will release her sex recordings on the internet which would ruin her career in Korea and Japan.
Sulli?
ReplyDeleteBoA?
ReplyDeleteI've never cared for the reality blinds since I have no idea who those people are. Do people really follow reality stars in Asia now?
ReplyDeleteSulli. She's definitely an A-list Kpop artist. She VERY quickly got involved with Kim after her previous relationship ended. The relationship with Kim Min Jun (he has several aliases) ended rather abruptly. He is a singer/producer/entrepreneur/reality show star.
ReplyDeleteGingerGirl, she is a famous singer, who happened to be on a reality. It's pretty common in Korea for famous people to be in reality shows.
ReplyDeleteI get that K-Pop Fan, but my question was more about if these people are known here? Since I have no idea about American reality or social media stars I have no idea about ones in other countries.
ReplyDeleteOh KPop is well known here I have a TV station on my cable system that is primarily KPop and it's based in LA @ginger

ReplyDeleteThat answers my question, thanks! I had no idea it had a channel too! I'm a cord cutter and no interest in reality or socials so I was wondering if this was one of those things I have no clue about.
ReplyDeleteI'm an Asian living in Asia and I had to Google "cord-cutter" (I thought it was a profession/job title). 👩🏻✂️
DeleteI used to be into HK Cantonese-Pop as a kid & tween. I understand K-Pop & the serials are really big with Millennials, even non-Asian ones.
ReplyDeletekpop isnt famous here (USA). Im a early 20something in california, youd be hard pressed to find ppl who know any kpop stars, or even what kpop is. asian musicians arent famous here (yet, obv who knows what the future holds)
ReplyDeletecome to think of it, I cant think of one famous asian person thats a singer/musician thats known in the USA (here).
ReplyDeletebut then again, none of us really know who kylie minogue is - and we dont watch soccer. it doesnt matter to us.
anyway, we dont have really any famous asian ppl here in the US except for some actors (who are great!). no musicians tho.

Deletethough enty I would just like to say I am TOTALLY OK WITH YOU REPLACING ALL TEEN MOM BLINDS WITH KPOP BLINDS please thank you
ReplyDeleteSlightly OT (will delete if requested) : I've been lurking in this blog since the Swine-stain news broke. Although I don't follow any K-entertainment specifically, I do have a penchant for east Asian movies, and was wondering with a mixture of anticipation and extreme trepidation if any Asian blinds would happen (maybe some already did? I've not scoured the archives).
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the entertainment industry is the same throughout the world, but as Asian big names have an even more carefully cultivated image than here in the west there's often no way to find out any gossip, especially if you're a foreigner who doesn't speak the language. I'm interested, but at the same time terrified in case I learn something about someone whose work I admire (or who I find attractive). Totally my fault for putting people on pedestals, I know. But this site is addictive, I can't look away, no matter how much I want to!
Welcome fraggedy_du! Just don’t take all blinds to heart...lol There have definitely been some Asian blinds here in the past of people I had no clue who were. I just returned myself, so I am not sure when the last ones were, but yes, plenty of scandal!! Happy huntings!!
ReplyDelete@Pink_Palace Thanks for the warm welcome :) I'm feeling so conflicted right now! I need someone to slap me in the face, grab me by the shoulders and force me to CLICK AWAY, because I'm not sure if I can, lol.
ReplyDeleteHyeri, all guess, I had to Google K POP.. lol
ReplyDeletelol at the mixed reactions! I dig it - let's replace all teen mom blinds with k-pop going forward!!
ReplyDeleteBOA seems most likely since she just broke up with her SA. Sulli has never been big in Japan while BOA has had some moderate succes over there.
ReplyDeleteBit random to find a kpop blind on here.
I was exited to hear that there was a Jew site with blind items but then I saw it here and I was surprised? I'll look around more if they keep on posting kpop blind items
ReplyDeleteSulli isn't an A list and neither was Choiza. And sulli/f(x) were never big in Japan. BoA is one of very few who matches this description.

ReplyDeleteI would love to see more KPop blinds, but I feel like the reveals may not always be correct because of people misunderstanding Korean media/culture, and status levels. For instance, during the BBMA’s, there was a blind about a foreign group having a member being about to have a sex change. They said it was V from BTS, but it’s not. He just has a certain character/personality. However, in the US, it wouldn’t be surprising for people to assume he’s gay, or too effeminate.
