Rose McGowan's Twitter Suspended By Actors She Is Calling Out
Want to silence Rose McGowan? Well, if you are Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, you start making phone calls. Who did they call? Their best buddy over at Twitter. The next thing you know, their fiercest critic has been silenced. Now, Rose McGowan looks like she is some stark raving lunatic and they are the calm measured ones. They have managed to get her suspended from Twitter while Nazis and racists and misogynists remain free to terrorize. Think it will happen again? It will if they want it to. Do you really think the average person was reporting Rose to Twitter? In the volume needed to suspend?
Wow.
ReplyDeleteSo, if you don't like the message; kill the messenger?
Just asking the misogynist posters!
Do you really think this puts Rose in her place?
(The correct answer is: NO!)
There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of commentators on Twitter regarding Weinstein et al. There is no proof whatsoever that Damon or Affleck were personally involved in the temporary suspension of her account. What is clear is that she used a lot of profanity, in tweets regarding Damon and Affleck, and that Twitter accounts are routinely suspended for use of profanity. Not a free speech issue, simply a potty mouth issue.
ReplyDelete+1 it's a temporary 12 hour suspension for violating "Twitter rules".
ReplyDeleteLOL Twitter does not have profanity rules and they do not routinely suspended for the use of profanity. They would have to suspend 95% of their users. You are making things up.
ReplyDeleteThey could have suspended her for using Twitter for harassment purposes.

Keep singing Rose!!
ReplyDeleteGo Rose go!. Liberal posers of Hollywood are no better than our fine dickweed President. The Bro network has protected these people for years.
ReplyDeleteGive me a break. Do you know how many "Fuck you" tweets there are on Twitter? She's been silenced by people in power. Period. At least they weren't dumb enough to shut down her account, but it's quite obvious someone called in a favor.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are a huge number of profanities on Twitter but repeated profanity against specific individuals can be reported as stalking/harassment and be subject to suspension.
ReplyDeleteShe has gone over the line with her rants. We get it, you were right, now sit down and be quiet.
ReplyDeleteThat's right @Jon keep silencing these poor women! Woo hoo!
DeleteNo wonder they stay silent.
Nonsense! She is not looking like a stark raving lunatic and in fact she has not been silenced. The Twitter debacle has magnified the volume of her voice. Twitter has already lost. Matt and Ben are next and many more will follow.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
DeleteTwitter... disgusts me. The amount of pedophelia, porn, and other sick garbage on there infuriates me more when I see how lame they are with scenarios like rose's. They could do more to combat internet crimes against children.... but yea, freeze roses account.
ReplyDeleteYou can watch porn on twitter FFS! And we are supposed to believe Matt Damon did not make that call to kill an article on Harvey Weinstein?!
ReplyDeleteWhile i'm sure 1/2 of Hollywood men were happy to see it suspended. It wasn't that much of a conspiracy. She got suspended for posting a phone number. She deleted the tweet and they restored it.
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with what she was saying.
Why should she be quiet? She's got every right to yell about Harvey all she wants. I'm so tired of men telling young women to quiet down. I hope she never shuts up.
ReplyDeleteExactly @ the everyday girl.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if Matt and Ben are involved, but this is definitely not above board. The phone number thing is just an excuse. If that was the legitimate excuse, Twitter would have told her at the time they suspended her account, or asked her to take in down before they suspended it. That's how things are done legitimately. I think someone decided they wanted to suspend her account first & THEN went looking for something in her tweets they could hang their hat on.
ReplyDeleteHey Jack! Twitter needs a grown-up in the Legal Dept and the Compliance team.
I will be soooo happy if this scandal causes Matt and Ben to disappear. Can't stand either one of them.
ReplyDelete@Karen D.C. she actually has to watch what she says. She signed an NDA with Harvey when she settled for $100k back in the '90s.
ReplyDeletetwatter excuse is that she posted a private phone number. IF they tell the truth, that is a quite acceptable reason.
ReplyDeleteWhen you post f words (many people I follow, do it regularly), the posts are shadowbanned and often you have to click again in order to see the post, or go to their TL.
Anyway, twatter is the toy of the gauche divine as they say in Frog, or rich liberals who think they are the top of the world in a crappy translation.
Mila, I would LOVE to see that lawsuit play out! "You spilled the beans, now give me back my money!"
ReplyDeleteI can imagine Harvey told Matt and Ben they better be on his side because he made their careers. Whether or not he can break them now remains to be seen.
Can someone tell me how this whole thing started? What prompted the NYT to do an article now, as opposed to years ago?
Well the right has Donald Trump. The left has Harvey Weinstein. I'm sure there are many more. Cough *james Cameron * cough. The problem is the abuse of power by men. And how we as a society will protect the rights of the vulnerable. Men also need to be the ones to fight against this behavior. It's not boys will be boys, it's abusive and corrosive and destructive to society.
ReplyDeleteSinger and Schneider are 10x worse. They like the younger set.
Delete"she signed an NDA with Harvey"
ReplyDeleteThat's right. She violated the NDA in her tweets calling out Jeff Bezos for terminating her production deal and spit on Casey Affleck's "dirty" Oscar, with the overarching message, COME AT ME BROS. It was pretty damn great.
If twitter followed their own rules they would have shut down Drumpf/45 ages ago. This is someone pulling strings and I hope it backfires spectacularly on them. I can see Ben being bad, thought possibly not as bad as Casey, who really needs to be in prison. Will be disappointed if Matt is in on this. He seemed like a real down to earth guy.
ReplyDeletewhile Nazis and racists and misogynists remain free to terrorize
ReplyDeleteReally?
I spend a shit ton of time on twitter and the most violent and vile posts come from the SJWs and antifa thugs (you know, the ones smashing in people's faces with bike locks and spikes on flag poles). It's funny that every single fucking Hollywood predator and the media whores who protect them are ALL politically active leftists - many raising huge sums for Clinton and Obama - while the left minions try to lay this on Trump or anyone who wouldn't vote for Hillary/Satan. Trump is a crude loudmouth jerk but he's not a rapist. Nevertheless, the left is so consumed with hate it automatically defaults to blaming him for the crimes of Hollywood predators who worked for Hillary Clinton! Such nauseating hypocrisy. Even Rose McGowan. She rightfully called out Donna Karan but said "You are a DEPLORABLE" - a passive-aggressive swipe at Trump voters when Karan is another Clinton supporting leftist who hosted fundraisers for HRC. The seething hate for people who are not of her political stripe actually caused her to try and associate Donna Karan with Trump voters. Talk about some psychologically sick transference. Unreal.
I am disgusted by the entire degenerate Hollywood culture. The notorious preying on child and teen actors (the absolute worst!), the casting couch, the rapacious appetites of powerful men AND the dumbass women who degrade themselves, in search of fame and money, in see-through dresses, tits hanging out and even bare asses hanging out, IN PUBLIC, on the red carpet, nearly naked, like guess who? Rose McGowan, herself. You can find the photos in Google images. While that does not excuse the predators, it is indicative of the entire degenerate culture which some of these women are very much a willing part of. But, anyway, Trump! Nazis! Deplorables! and all of little people out there in "flyover country" - it's their fault, right? For fuck sakes.
Sexual assault is not a partisan issue you stupid cunt.
ReplyDelete@HeatherDuke
ReplyDeleteWell, she's the one who made it partisan with calling Karan "a DEPLORABLE" which she used all caps on, not me.
lol, you can call me any name you want but I'm not in that moral sewer or dragging my bare ass around in public while hypocritically yapping on about women's rights.
I am with Shakey and want to know who threw Harvey under the bus? From what I have read there were at least 2 attempts to publish this story over the years but the stories got killed.
ReplyDeleteWas it his brother? Also I wonder if the person or people foresaw the consequences once this ball got rolling and women starting calling other powerful men out?
If you're focused on her use of the word "deplorables" and linking McGowan to Antifa (FFS) you're doing "fighting sexual harassment and assault" wrong. Or you're a really bad troll.
ReplyDelete@tetsujin
ReplyDeleteI'm not linking Rose McGowan to Antifa. I highly doubt she's into street fighting and smashing heads with bike locks. That was a response to the OP going on about Nazis.
My biggest problem with McGowan is her working with Victor Salva and her comments saying his pedophilia were none of her business, followed by calling him "sweet" & "lovely". McGowan is outraged (rightfully, imo) over all of the people who kept working with Weinstein when they knew what he was. Apparently the same does not apply to her working with Silva and knowing what he was - a convicted pedophile who filmed himself assaulting a little boy.
Thanks wondercat. I've wondered if it was his brother - as soon as Mom died he had to get rid of Harvey somehow, and it all snowballed out of control for him.
