He is garbage and he has made himself rich by promoting and pushing garbage as well as piggy backing off all the garbage.

i agree with you cc423 -- she pushes boundaries to cause outrage -- that's part of her humor, and if she were a man it would be no problem. we'd call him a genius. hang in there kathy!

So she gets a pass because hypothetically someone else got a pass? What is telling is how little support she actually has. Whataboutism is a lame crutch to use as a defense. She must be extremely disliked by her peers.
ReplyDeleteNo, Kathy Griffin is trashed because she is a witless asshole. And PLEASE with the "double standard" hypothesis. Gilbert Gottfried lost a big gig with Aflac after he made a joke about Japanese tsunami victims and he was vilified all over the place. Kathy has openly said she was going to make ridiculing a 10 year old boy part of her act. She wasn't funny when she mimed oral sex on Anderson Cooper on the NY Eve telecast either. She needs to stop playing victim, because she is not one.

ReplyDeletei can agree that kathy griffin's not exactly a victim -- she asks for outrage and anyone who intentionally puts themselves in the public eye is begging for hate. but the public is hypocritical as hell -- double standards against women and in their support of misogynistic, sex abuser politician(s). she's no villain and she's funny and i miss her!

ReplyDeleteBoth can exist. Kathy Griffin can be both horrible and a victim. A double standard has been applied to her AND Gilbert Godfried was overly vilified. Comedy is not for wussies and pushing the envelope is their job. Not all risks pan out.
