This permanent A list singer/musician who had his biggest days five decades ago is close to death. He doesn't even have the energy any longer to get himself ready like he used to. I wish everyone today knew what a fun and amazing guy he is. Goodness he was the life of any party you invited him to.
Nile Rodgers
ReplyDeleteLittle RIchard?
ReplyDeleteFirst choice John Sebastian 2nd choice Flo or Eddie from the Turtles 3rd choice Roger McGuinn from The Byrd's?
ReplyDeleteNot McCartney, I just saw him in concert, totally energetic. Not Jagger, he is still touring and still rocking. Ringo is still playing dates. I hope it isn't him.
ReplyDeleteSad for whoever this is. Tom Petty was a big enough loss. No more this year.
Nile Richards had the hit Get Lucky over four years ago with Daft Punk
ReplyDeleteNeil Sedaka. Seemed well loved by everyone that knew him.
ReplyDeleteTony Bennett?
ReplyDelete5 decades ago would be 1960's. Little Richard Sounds right.
ReplyDeletejeez, there are guesses here for permanent A list i never heard of! the part about 'getting himself ready' sounds like little richard to me. he was very into having his hair done and getting all spiffed up. bless his heart.
ReplyDeleteI think Montana got it.
ReplyDeleteLittle Richard recently gave an interview, his first in years, maybe for a reason...

Neil Young's the first person to pop into my head. Hope it's not him.
ReplyDeleteMet Little Richard way back in the 80's!
ReplyDeleteHe was one of the nicest people even though he was struggling with a record company about his record ownership rights.
Hope he's OK.
I am afraid it’s Brian Wilson.
ReplyDeletei agree it's little richard. he's in a wheelchair and no longer putting on makeup...he matches the description best.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Little Richard. The "goodness" is an extra point. I've seen him before in concert and he was amazing. He's not a spring chicken. Regardless, I hope he knows that he's loved.
ReplyDeleteIt is most certainly "the b Little Richard,"as he used to refer to himself. And he does know he is loved, the man has a very, shall we say, healthy, sense of his own self worth. Which is one reason he was always such a joy to see in person.
ReplyDeleteJerry Lee Lewis. "Goodness" gracious great balls of fire.
ReplyDeleteBoth Jerry Lee and Little Richard are in wheelchairs now.. so sad to be losing all of these greats.

Nile Rogers is in remission and planning next tour dates. He's an amazing guy, but don't know if I would call him the life of the party.
