  1. We went to Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, which was across the street. Spent the morning at he zoo, ate our lunches, spent the rest looking at flowers and trees.

  3. When I was a junior in high school my English teacher Mrs. Kelso took a class of seniors to Startford, Ontario, for the annual Shakespeare festival. I had actually been there with my parents a couple of times before. She said I could go too if my parents agreed, so I begged and pleaded for permission. It took a while. I think they were reluctant to let me out of their sight because I had a tendency to get into trouble, but they finally gave in. We saw "Macbeth" and I didn't get into any trouble the whole trip. One of the few good memories I have of high school.

  4. I hated being in school.
My favorite field trip was the day I left and never looked back.

  5. Gosh there were alot- plays, factory tours, shows but i think my favorite was seeing the opera "Il Tavioitta" at the Met in nyc. Now we were 5 th graders i think, but our teacher, herb rothgarber- shout out to great guy- he told us and interpreted the whole opera, including the songs. We loved it! The pagentry, the over the top props, the huge heavy curtains- -3 or 4 layers- the costumes and of course the singing. Never got back there but loved it. To go now is like $200+ dollars!

  8. in elementary school we went to sacramento to see the state capitol and meet the governor, ronald reagan. my dad, a professor, had prepped me to ask him when salaries would be going up. i raised my hand and asked, all moral-outragy and full of myself, but terrified at the same time. reagan cracked up and said, "i'm going to guess that we have the daughter of a state college employee here". the adults all joined in laughing and i died a thousand deaths. but i was proud of myself for being brave and defending my dad. my first political activism!

    1. Nice. ♥

You "died a thousand deaths". LOL. I can't imagine what that must've been like as a child.

  9. In 10th grade, my class went to the Louisville Zoo. When I got home (I was a latch key kid), I called my mom and dad (Note: They worked together and were already divorced), dad picked up and I played a trick on him. I told him the bus left me behind and I walked from the zoo to his house (about a mile away). He was mad, then my sister got on the phone and ended the trick. When a couple of his delivery men picked us up (we had their warehouse in our basement), when we got to dad's store, he said "good one, Syvyn. don't tell your mother).

  11. Paris and Brussels.
Fell in love with Paris, still go at least 4-5 times a year for work, hate Brussels, it's a total shithole. Went back once because I had to, and gave it the finger on my way out.
