Blind Item #3
This group had one of the best debut albums of all time. They have tons of hits. They are probably permanent A list. One of the members has had some drug issues which led to a couple year break. Now? The new record didn't do very well and they are playing to half filled arenas that are only half filled because they have discounted tickets in every city.
fall out boy?
ReplyDeleteGreen Day
ReplyDeleteThat was my guess
ReplyDeleteLooking at recent releases Trish's guess makes more sense.
ReplyDeleteDookie was an awesome debut... I think Billy Joe was the one with the cripling drug issues:(
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard new album but North American tour is underway I think?
If this is Green Day, they should just play at smaller venues. Punk is not a big seller anymore like it was. The music landscape has changed dramatically since their debut. I don't think any of this is their fault. They are still a quality band.
ReplyDeleteI would have thought they would now be a legacy band and still sell to rich 30/40 year olds.
ReplyDeleteGuns N' Roses - their tour is showing up on Groupon. And "Appetite For Destruction" is universally hailed as one of the greatest debuts of all time.
ReplyDeleteDookie was actually Green Day's third album, although it was their first major label project. And yes, it is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI loved the dookie cd. Green Day was my favorite at that time.
ReplyDeleteNo new record
ReplyDeleteThe Killers
ReplyDeleteAgree in everything except the last sentence, they suck.
ReplyDeleteDepeche Mode
ReplyDeleteNo way, DM is still a hot commodity. They're tops in that generational landscape, produce quality music and excellent shows. I know, I'm from that era and yes, I'm going to see their concert as I've done nearly every time they've been here (always sold out).
