Blind Item #10
A little out of the norm, but a movie being released soon starring this pirate but not in a pirate role is in trouble. The movie is meh. The thing is though it is way over budget and the producers are trying to save money on the score and music which is causing lots of arguments and there is one school of thought which just wants no music at all in the movie which would be interesting.

ReplyDeleteReally? What a coincidence. I just woke up from a dream about that Kenneth guy who played Wallander. Huh.
DeleteLove Agatha Christie! ♥
Cannot wait to see it
ReplyDeleteWent to see a film from Singapore at TIFF many years ago. No music. It worked because there was an underlying feeling of isolation, so the non-soundtrack added to that.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if no music would work on a mystery movie with some action (for sure they're going to have some action scenes). Maybe it could work, and the audience might actually be surprised rather than relying on the musical cues.
movies need music.

ReplyDeleteWHO THE FUCK WANTS NO MUSIC IN A FILM
ReplyDeleteTrying this again, it's been awhile since I've been on this site, but so glad to see it back here! I had a chance to screen Goonies (many many years ago!) before it was completed; several scenes were not scored, and it made a huge difference. I hadn't realized until then how much the underscoring adds to your enjoyment of a scene.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was so-so. The music was okay. There was one really amazing piece near the end of the film, which, surprise, is not on the soundtrack. Typical.
