list of my bfs: my brother, 2 cousins, husband, sister-in-law & her husband, girlfriend i grew up w/, 2 friends from collage, my next door neighbor (she is 93 y.o. & is the most intelligent, cute & classy lady i ever met)...
Since childhood to now, about ten. Real good friends, until something happens. Like a boyfriend gets too friendly, and you find out they were screwing and nobody tells you but everyone knows, behind your back.
Also, I'm beginning to come to terms with how much I hated, loathed, attending those alumni association events where the other attendees are always looking at you under their noses going, "what do you do for a living?" So elitist. Even when I volunteered to help counsel potential students to share my experience some of them would look at me unconvinced and put me down. Ungrateful shitheads. And how nobody would listen to me when I tried to direct that play and bullied me for being slow/ADHD (they never forgave me for not letting them into my family's apartment downtown and never let me forget it whenever I attended those events).
My friend Linda Ellerbee is in the hospital - she's contracted bird flu. I think she was the victim of fowl plague.
