I have a Starbucks being built directly across the street right now. I've never been inside one and I don't intend to set foot in this one either. I prepare my own coffee daily and only drink coffee outside when I eat the very occasional breakfast out.
I do patronize local restaurants and bars 4 times a week.

    Neither. I prefer Dunkin Donuts

Anything--- I repeat anything but Starbucks for multiple reasons.

I run on Dunkin (Or Pete's Pike)?

I recently moved to Seattle where every local coffee shop is a million times better than Starbucks. So the only time I get starbucks is if I'm really needing caffeine and it is all that's around. Places here like Gravity and Maristas make a much better less bitter drink.

Starbucks is revolting. They either serve dishwater or liquid sugar.
In London we have Cafe Nero or Costa which are far superior. Cafe Nero is my no2, my no1 is my loyal Nespresso machine, with all the bells & whistles; I like to put a little cinnamon and cardamon powder in my morning lattes, which I make with either almond or coconut milk. Lots of foam too.
    Coffee is serious shit.

Hellz, yes. Patronize your local businesses and keep the money local and the community unique. Fight the Amazonbulldozerization of America!

Chris Cuomo took me to court for throwing a pot of hot coffee at him, but the judge threw the case out, since he didn't have grounds to sue.

I don't know if this is true or not, but someone once told me that Starbucks deliberately overroasts their beans to give it a unique (I think slightly burnt) taste - the point being that as you get used to this taste, you find other coffees weak, and think only Starbucks makes a good pot of joe.

I'm not going to lie - I drink Starbucks - and I think all the Starbucks hate is a lie. They would not be on practically every corner of America if people weren't buying it. Starbucks sells over 4 billion cups of coffee a year. People llove to say they shop local, but the truth is they don't. The same argument goes for amazon and Walmart. These would not be the huge corporations they are if people actually did buy local.

I do make a point of trying to patronize local stores, but I almost never go out for coffee.

I NEVER buy coffee from a shop. I have a friend that gives me free Starbucks when I rarely stop in, but that's the only time I drink coffee that I haven't made myself.

I live in the PIGS, it would be mortal sin going to crapbucks to drink coffee.
Besides, even when I go to countries where coffee is dirty water (the UK, for example), I would rather go to a local business in order not to give that asshole crapbucks ceo any dough.

I give zero shits about local businesses, but they are often better quality than those uniformed turds big companies sell.

Local coffee shop. though I am from Seattle, where Starbucks started, but stick to small local shops, and only Starbucks occasionally.

I'm odd I guess. I make French press coffee at home or work, but love the cappuccino from only your finer gas stations if buying out. But never Starbucks.

If I have money, Starbucks. Love a cappuccino and one of those little vanilla scones, or a blueberry scone, or a lemon Poundcake. But, I always make coffee at home on my little mr coffee maker.

Erin Burnett hung a photo of Chris on the tampon machine in the 13th floor ladies room. Now when you drop in your two quarters, a fresh Kotex comes out of his mouth.

Local, there is a tiny little coffee house in my tiny little town that makes the best coffee I've ever had.

  26. Fairylights9:45 AM

+1, I've always thought it tasted over roasted.

Rather ironic this question was asked today, we're getting ready for Harvey to make landfall, and the one thing I forgot at the store was coffee.

  28. I don't drink coffee. But here in Canada, Starbucks ain't all that. It's Tim Horton's all the way!

  29. Always support local shops if available, as they need and appreciate my business and the money will benefit the local economy. By going to Starbucks I'm helping a zillionaire become even more wealthy.

  30. Timmy's coffee is ok, but aren't they now owned by Burger King? A local coffee shop might need and appreciate your business more.

    We don't have Starbucks

  33. SnarkIsFun1:32 PM

Generally make my own coffee, but if getting it out, usually hit up Dunkin' Donuts, McDonald's, or Wawa. Don't like the taste of "Charbucks" over-roasted, burnt crap - avoid it at all costs.

  34. Brew at home, using locally roasted coffee beans.

    No Starbucks.
There aren't too many around here and I don't like it anyway.
We have three local bakeries that make amazing coffee and it's cheaper than Starbucks.
I support lots of local businesses as most of my friends are young entrepreneurs in my area.
I am a local business so I appreciate everyone who supports me!

Not a coffee drinker but otherwise strongly support local businesses. It's important; otherwise we won't have a local economy or retail presence the way things are going. I only shop online if there's a specific specialty item I can't find locally. So Important to support local businesses!!!
