Blind Item #7
This former late night actress turned A- list mostly movie actress always looks so odd on red carpets because of the boatloads of anxiety meds she takes because of her fear of being in public and stage fright and a host of others.

ReplyDeleteAhhh Enty. He has no time for human frailties, it you have them you're lower than pond scum but if you don't then you're closeted, coke sniffing, cheating on your beard, pond scum. Never change Enty.
ReplyDeleteDon't knock someone for taking their meds. It sounds like that's what she's supposed to do. With anxiety there's often long-term and interventional meds prescribed. It's hard to get the cocktail right, but more pills doesn't mean stronger dosage.
ReplyDeleteWe have read this about Kristen Wiig, before, it seems like they can't come up with anything else to say about, her.
ReplyDeleteRight?! Sounds like enty is suggesting that appearing youthful is more important than being mentally and emotionally sound.
ReplyDeleteYeah, really. I have horrible test anxiety, and it took me a lot of attempts to finally pass my certification test for my career because I just go into panic mode. And even though I've now been doing what I do for years, I STILL get super nervous if someone watches me while I'm working. If I was an actress I'm sure I'd have public speaking problems. Even my therapist, a man with over 20 years experience and a PhD, said he gets nervous before giving lectures. I don't criticize anyone for taking meds to help.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you Sophie, and anyone who has severe anxiety, even whomever this blind is about. However, Acting just seems like an odd profession to choose if you are THAT uncomfortable getting on stage and "performing", since that IS the job!!
ReplyDeleteWoman gets help for mental health issue from qualified doctor. More at eleven.
ReplyDeletethis blog is such a joke.
ReplyDeleteconsidering that enty is besties with renee zellweger you'd think he'd be kinder about celebrities with anxiety disorders. good for her for putting herself out there, fighting through the pain. agoraphobia and social anxieties have paralyzed me for most of my life.
ReplyDeleteIf it's "stage fright", aka performance anxiety, low-dose Inderal is very safe & effective, and is completely non-addictive. Js
ReplyDeleteKristin Wiig-ing out. But Bridesmaids and SNL were ages ago, how can she be considered A list at this point?
ReplyDeleteMe too. Very difficult for people to understand, without firsthand experience. I feel your pain & wish you the best.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but I think there's a difference between acting and being in character and being yourself interacting with people with no script. If you act in movies or television, you not only are in your character, but you have multiple takes to try and try again. If you act on state, you're like in a whole different reality with the other actors. Even in other types of jobs, people put on their work face and go into that mode. It's not the same as going to a party and chitchatting with people you work with. Another example is if you are a stripper, it's one thing to put on a show on stage, but another thing to actually hustle the clients and get them into private rooms to make real money. There's not that division of your actual self from the general public.
ReplyDeleteBecause she also writes and produces.
