Blind Item #7
Don't believe the hype. This A list singer is suffering from really low ticket sales and is hoping an upcoming big television appearance will change all that. If it doesn't, then look for the tour to be dramatically shortened.

ReplyDeleteMeant to add?
ReplyDeleteKaty Perry. Well she's already cancelling concerts.
ReplyDeleteKaty, her tickets are bbeing re-selled for 9.90
ReplyDeleteShe just cancelled her Buffalo show.
ReplyDeleteMight help if she'd released a decent record. The last one was poor as well. Time for a greatest hits?
ReplyDeleteShe's declining so fast. She added TONS of dates that all sold well on her last tour which only finished just under 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThe Hillary Clinton effect.
ReplyDeleteShe is way overexposed, and her last record wasn't that good. Getting on the wrong side of Taylor doesn't help, she had the sense to disappear for a while.
ReplyDeletePerry just "delayed" her show in Philly by one month, to accomodate for production changes. She did reschedule, no cancel.

ReplyDeleteI was kind of surprised how brutally terrible the album is. not a single hit on it. did the ghostwriters stop working for her or what??
You are right, essentially. Most of her hit singles were Dr. Luke creations. Due to the whole Kesha lawsuit, working with him now would be career suicide, and not in alignment with being "woke" and "socially conscious". Curiously, Katy hasn't even commented or been outwardly vocally supportive of Kesha in the whole plight. Makes one wonder which side of the line she falls on...
ReplyDeleteShe's had 8 billboard hot 100 number ones, 7 of them written by Max Martin not Dr Luke.
ReplyDeleteI Kissed a Girl, Roar, Teenage Dream, California Girls, Part of Me, Dark Horse, Wide Awake, Hot & Cold, ET, Unconditionally....you're aware that these these are ALL Katy songs either written by or produced by Dr. Luke? Google can confirm if you are skeptical. Also, Max Martin was Dr. Luke's mentor, so they did work together (Martin and Luke) on some Katy material, along with songwriter Bonnie McKee.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, Katy's biggest hits were Dr. Luke productions.
I also forgot Last Friday Night, Birthday, and a few one-off/non singles. Basically like 90% of Katy's singles released to date Luke had involvement with. Crazy! I kind of feel bad for her. She can't publicly disavow the guy responsible for the monster success she has had, but she can't work with him and go against the grain, either. Would be the wrong rabbit hole to fall down right now. Jennifer Lopez was harassed on social media for releasing a Dr. Luke produced song after the Kesha lawsuit was publicized. Surely Katy would have to deal with similar backlash.
