Today's Blind Items - Not Going To Be One Of His Books

This permanent A list best selling author has only written a LGBTQ character into his books once I think. That is a whole lot of books and a whole lot of characters to only happen once. Our author is very conservative. He is also homophobic. Oh, only with his words and how he acts in public. In private, his wife is divorcing him because she caught him cheating on her with another man. She thinks he is going to hell but is keeping quiet because she doesn't want people to think less of her. The couple is also being sued by someone accusing them of being racist and homophobic so this should be interesting to watch as it all plays out.

On the one hand I was hoping it was Tom Clancy, but I think Nicholas Sparks is the only person this would make me happier for this blind to be about.

  14. I know several people who've had interactions with him, and to a person they say he's a total ass, and his wife isn't much better.

  15. Nicolas Sparks seems like a closeted homosexual. I know I am stereotyping but a straight man writing romance books seems a bit far fetched. Sparks is very religious and religious. I kind of wish Enty had put that Sparks is pious in the blind item.

I read King & follow him online. He has had more than a few gay characters. I also follow him on Twitter, he's very liberal. His son is also a writer, and liberal.

Sparks is who I first thought of.

A lot of Sparks fan base is Christian, could really see him being in the closet.

It's Nicholas Sparks. He writes boring predictable books with the depth of a shallow rain puddle. Also when will we collectively learn that conservative, over the top homophobic, Christian ,many times equals closeted? They go ultra het, ultra conservative to camouflage the truth. *Stares pointedly at Mike Pence.*

I just read this in that article:

"It was “a whim at first. Let’s make our own school,” Cathy told a Christian website. But Sparks doesn’t do anything halfheartedly. (When his preschool-age son, who suffers from a neurological condition, couldn’t talk, Sparks seat-belted him into a chair for six hours until he formed the word apple.) He poured $10 million into the campus and subsidized tuition."

holy crap, he strapped his neurologically disabled son to a chair for SIX HOURS until he could say one word?

Im sorry, BUT HOW IS THAT NOT ABUSE? fuck this guy, I hope he is outted so hard

"This permanent A list best selling author has only written a LGBTQ character into his books once I think."

Most classic writers did not write any lg-whatever, they add one letter every week character in their works, perhaps that is why they are classic books (Cervantes, Mark Twain, Tolstoi...).

  31. I thought Clancy was gay. Go figure.

  32. If this is Sparks his trite, love lorn, homily loving audience won't bat an eye. Just a #loveislove tweetstorm.

This makes me sick. I'm an SLP, helping kids talk is my profession. How far back in time do you have to be to think that belting a little kid into a seat to make them talk is actually going to work??? Yeah, he may have said one word...but I bet that's all they got. Outing is too good for this neanderthal, there should be charges.

I wonder what other kind of abuse this poor kid gets.

I've said it over and over again....Those that protest too much are usually guilty of what they are protesting. I thought Nicholas Sparks was some old 60 year old btw.

  49. Orson Scott Card is notoriously anti Gay but has written at least one gay character.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Nah, he has just said he won't throw gay characters into storylines for the sake of it. He is not publicly homophobic, unlike Orson Scott Card

  51. Mad Mama4:34 PM

The PC bean counters are at it again. Why must everyone be expected to have a gay character in their TV show, screenplay or book? If you want a gay character in a story, write your own. Geez!
