Blind Item #2

This foreign born A list mostly movie actor is only A list when filming his franchise. With offers coming in that were about 1/3 of the fee he would get for his franchise, he agreed to sign on for another installment.

He did? I bet they didn't repeat the up to $100 million dollar offer he was given before.

Damn it. I was really hoping Jamie Dornan would be the next James Bond.

    Daniel Craig.
He really isn't a big star outside of Bond. I wonder if he is even bankable. The guy is 47 with no major awards begin him...

Easy. Daniel Craig. Can only squint to look menacing.

@policedog the problems with Idris being the next Bond are (a) he's so hot, he'd melt the franchise!, and (b) Bond is a serial role - how the hell would they ever find someone to compare to Idris to replace him when he got tired of being Bond? (Not that we can't dream & drool, anyway!)

@police dog I totally understand. :) How about a buddy cop movie with both Dornan and Elba?

Too bad it's Daniel. He was amazing in Layer Cake and Munich. He was good in Casino Royale. The other ones were just meh, but not all the blame can be on him; the writing was pretty awful on the others.

I'm pretty sure that is even less than 1/3. With Bond he made crazy money, backend and all, and on outside the franchise he was doing low to mid budgeted films so his fee was never going to be his studio film fee and now he even lost The Millennium trilogy.

I think he was seeing how things were going with his wife. No pre-nup at a guess, so he was hesitant to sign on until he was sure about the direction of the marriage. If he's signed before they separate, his check for Bond is part of the marital estate and subject to equitable distribution.
