Model Wanted For Murder Turns Herself In
An aspiring model in the Toronto area has turned herself in after police issued a country-wide warrant for her arrest. Laurie Phan, 22, who was wanted in connection with a murder investigation, surrendered to police. She's been charged with first-degree murder.
The murder case that provoked the Canada-wide arrest warrant of Phan was that involving the death of Noel Williams, 27, who was shot in Markham, Ontario on February 10, 2017. According to reports, he was shot multiple times on a sidewalk in the city around 1 AM and was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead there.
Evidence at the murder scene suggested that a semi-automatic firearm was used to shoot Williams; suspect or suspects reportedly fled in a vehicle, leading police to ask witnesses to come forward. Police ended up charging one person several months later in April for first-degree murder in the death of Williams: Jasper Atienza.
