Four For Friday - Blink And You Missed It

Going a little old school Four For Friday. One blind, but four items.

Earlier this week I saw this actor got promoted on his show and I am really happy for the guy. He has fought his way back and it is a great show and a hit, so good for him.

Back in the day he (#1) was on this network show. He had come over from movies. Thought he was Mr. Movie Star. Just like that too, with caps. The thing is though, he was a crazy drunk. When I would go out with him, it would nearly kill me and, as you may know, I like to drink a lot. He is one of those drinkers that could chug a half liter of vodka at a time. Not over the course of an evening, but just pick it up and chug it. He liked to get his drunk on quickly sometimes. With no movies calling his name he landed the lead in a network show. It was a really good network show (#2). Yes, it didn't make it through the season, but it was good. Fans tried like crazy to get it back on the air. They used actual snail mail to make their point because each fan enclosed something to the network honchos. Anyway, one of the reasons the network didn't want it to continue was because of our actor. The drinking was out of control and there was a scandal brewing with his co-star. She had been daytime (#3) on the network and the network brass loved her (#4). A lot. This was their gift to her. Her big break. Then she met our actor. Both our actor and actress were married, but not to each other. This didn't stop them. They started hooking up almost from day one and didn't stop until the show ended. It wasn't like a once a week thing. I mean, when they were on set and not filming, they were having sex, and in the case of our actor, drinking. He would then cajole our actress to have something to drink. She would usually pass out. It was the biggest mess. The network wanted them both gone. Our actress never really recovered. The last couple of years have been ok for her, but she was going places and that show. She probably wishes she had not done it.

The thing about saying this is Jericho is that it made it through the first season before it was cancelled and BI is saying it didn't. Other shows that were saved by mailing in junk were Friday Night Lights (eye drops and light bulbs) and Roswell (Tabasco sauce) but both of these were initially cancelled after more than one season and both at season ends.

I've been in love with Skeet for the past 20 years. I hope he manages to stay clean this time. Very similar to his Riverdale character in that sense

I remember something about nuts, but I can't remember why the fans sent them in. Jericho *was* a good show. Maybe they should reboot that with different actors.

It's Skeet Ulrich, but the show was Miracles on ABC and the co-star was Marisa Ramirez, from General Hospital (on ABC). From Wiki: Miracles fans, angered by the cancellation and what they saw as ABC's mismanagement of the show's Monday 10:00pm time slot, began a fan campaign to revive the show. Fans wrote messages on napkins (referencing a plot point in the pilot episode) and mailed them to various networks hoping the show would be revived by another network; however, efforts were unsuccessful and the show did not continue past its initial order of thirteen episodes

It was the ending of the season finale. The town was under attack and the bad guys asked for their surrender. Skeet responded by saying "Nuts" which is the same that Gen McAuliffe said in WWII when surrounded by the Germans

If it's Skeet then the show might be Miracles. After it was cancelled people sent in napkins. Co star was Marisa Ramirez

  17. The actor that got promoted is definitely Skeet because it was just announced that he is going to be a series regular on Riverdale, which was just renewed for two more seasons, it's a huge hit.
