This one named permanent A- list singer who is closing in on permanent A list status is married. You would never know it though by the way he hits on people or that he never wears his wedding ring. Oh, or that you never see him with his wife.
Usher
I will forever dispute that Usher is permanent A- as a singer.
ReplyDeletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usher_(musician)
Usher is not legendary. So he isn't permanent A Entern.
ReplyDeleteEnty says hits on 'people' because we know usher ain't hitting on women is he?
ReplyDeleteEnty there are plenty of pics with him and his wife.
ReplyDeleteIs he still with the fugly "stylist" that everyone believes is his beard?
ReplyDeleteThat was Tameka Foster, his first wife. Now he is married to Grace who is his manager. She is the inspiration for the old rap song, Bonita Applebottom . He fooled around on Tameka with Grace who is average looking. He should have stuck it out with Chilii
ReplyDeleteIsn't this bloke who pissed on kids (according to macklemore's thrift shop) or am I thinking of another one? These crappy singers are all the same to me.
ReplyDeleteSheeeeeeit, it is r kelly.
ReplyDeleteDamn singers who are all alike
I wonder if he would even be famous if not for gossip blogs and his association with Bieber.
ReplyDeleteUsher literally made hits for almost 20 years, sold out arenas, has Grammys and universal name recognition... I do not understand why people find this so confusing. He hasn't been pumping out pop hits lately but dude is like 40 years old! With a career that lasted that long that successfully how is he not A list???? I'm not even a big usher fan but I find this question annoying every time it comes up and y'all start complaining.
ReplyDeletePermanent A list is different than A-list. Permanent means legendary like a Mick Jagger, Freddie Mercury or groups like the Beatles or Stones. Or a Sinatra or Tony Bennett. Do you think Usher is up there with them?
ReplyDeleteSo is this some boomer snobbery we got going here? LOL Permanent A list to me means you'll be famous for a few generations and we'll hear your songs on the oldies station for a long time. So I don't know, ask me in 10 years. People used to do this exact same bitching when Madonna was a few years past her hit making stage. Now nobody disputes she's iconic. In any case, Usher has already heavily influenced people who came afternoon him (Timberlake, Chris Brown, Beiber, etc) and even your grandma knows who he is so let's see what he does to cement his legacy in the decade to come. In the meantime, dude should get to be called an A- permanent list without people getting huffy and offended like he strangled puppies or something. Really. Guy had a long varied career, you would think he earned a little respect.
ReplyDeleteI don't deny that he is very popular/talented, but the fact remains that I listen to a lot of music, but I'd be hard pressed to name one of his songs. Yes, I'm not a huge R&B fan, but I listened to a lot of radio in the 90s and still...nothing.
ReplyDeleteSo? I listen to a lot of music too, and the 80s, 90s and early 2000s were my era. I could name you multiple rock, pop, R&b a hip hop and jazz artists. I could even name some country songs. But I could not name a Garth Brooks song if you paid me. If somebody said he was permanent A list I wouldn't argue because he was everywhere for a very long time, and he was hugely influential, even if he wasn't my thing.
ReplyDeleteSo there you go, he's not there yet. It's not snobbery. He's A-list that's respect. He's not legendary.
ReplyDeleteNo, that's different definitions of perment A list. I don't think they have to be "legendary", just famous spanning a generation or two. My mom knows who usher is, I know who he is and my kids know... and we can all sing Yeah. LOL. Done.
ReplyDeleteSandy, You listed all white rockstars as your examples. If you were in to hip-hop you'd see it differently. I'm not a huge fan of his, but he is a legend and started lots of huge careers.
ReplyDeleteTo me in hip hop it's Jay, Snoop, Ice-T and Tupac for the 90s up with NWA in there for groups. That's legends. I know who and what they did and I really don't do hip-hop. (And I know I'm probably missing some but it's late and I'm really exhausted). Y'all can add to the list if you choose.
ReplyDeleteI love his songs and still search for them on YouTube
ReplyDeleteHe is one of my favorites and will always be A+++ to me
I'm pretty sure you mean Anita Applebum.
ReplyDeleteYesss!!! Memory issues i suppose. Thanks. Lol
ReplyDeleteNo, it's Bonita Applebaum. That poster had it right. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's R Kelly you racist twit.
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I'm gonna say it. Tupac is WAAAAAY overrated and if he hadn't died, he'd have disappeared from both the charts and the scene by now, except to argue with exes on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteHe'd be about as memorable as Kim Cesarion.
ReplyDeleteI dunno but I'll say it's possible because I don't think Kurt Cobain would be what he is now if he didn't kill himself. Or Nirvana being the extremely legendary group they are today.
