The reboot of this show made me think about something that happened back in the day to one of the original stars of this reboot. Back when she landed the role she had been known for a certain kind of move which was extremely popular in that time period. Basically it was a director, producers and actors all ganging up on the lead female and telling her she had to get naked or they would find someone else who would. It was an awful way to treat women and these guys got off on that. There were so many one and done female leads back then. A woman out of nowhere would get the lead in a movie, be forced into multiple nude and sex scenes and she would never act again.
Anyway, at the time this happened to our actress she was dating at the time this A-/B+ list mostly television actor who is now an A+ list mostly movie actor. Showing what a d**k he could be even back then, when he saw the movie starring his girlfriend, he made her do all the sex scenes with him and then do them in front of some other people because he said she should feel embarrassed the same way he was when he had to watch it in the theatre with his friends. A-hole. They broke up right after.
Sherilyn Fenn and Depp
ReplyDeleteI don't know. 'Twin Peaks?'
ReplyDeletePeter berg for the director?
ReplyDeleteSherilynn Fenn (Twin Peaks) and Johny Depp?
ReplyDeleteSorry scratch that read it wrong.
ReplyDeleteYep,
ReplyDeleteFunny I used to think she was such a stunning woman but always wondered why she did those late 80"s early 90's nudie films like Boxing Helena and Two Moon Junction. I guess I know now.
Two Moon Junction for the movie.
ReplyDeleteSherilyn talked about how she basically shut down after doing that, she hasn't talked about what happened on set though.
The director was Zalman King, who also directed 91/2 weeks. Bassinger said she was bullied by him & Mickey to do the sex scenes.
She dated a lot of interesting guys. Billy Idol, Depp, Prince, Keifer Sutherland, maybe Nicholsen (not sure about him). She had an interesting look.
ReplyDeleteLots & lots of actresses were sexually abused like this.
ReplyDeleteI knew a couple of them and most never, ever made it beyond a role or two -- then, they were gone from Hollywood.
So sad the sexual predators are never outed or pay for their crimes.
(I never witnessed any of this, but I was told stories about "auditions," etc.)
I hope they slowly burn in Hell while watching their ex-wifes bleed them through their wallets.
ReplyDeleteDepp and Fenn were married not just dating. Definitely Fenn though.
ReplyDeleteEngaged never got married.
ReplyDeleteShe still professes her love for him on twitter and she vehemently defended him when his ex conjured up those accusations. i would say it is most definitely not him.
ReplyDeleteUmmm if they were just going to break up the next day why the hell dis she agree to be humiliated like that?! Sad!
ReplyDeleteMore women than ever today are happy to put up with this stuff, they're all on yachts posting photos of themselves alone in Cannes. It's a shame for the women who are talented, have class, etc.
ReplyDeleteWhat saddens me is that all these Hollywood actresses now are publicly speaking out on feminism, closing the wage gap, etc. when they allow themselves to be treated like this by men in Hollywood. Is fame really worth the loss of your self respect?
ReplyDeleteTwin Peaks/ Sherilyn Fenn/Johnny Depp?
ReplyDeleteSherilyn has become very religious. Hope it helps her.
ReplyDeleteThe move: tying a cherry stem in a knot with her tongue.
ReplyDeleteI can never understand why they feel they need the men. Plenty of women produced films, etc. get made.
ReplyDeleteRight AFTER? She's an idiot.
ReplyDeleteshe looked like a real life pin up girl.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't these men be named? Then, they can be drummed out of the business.
ReplyDeleteDownvote it or not, that *was* the move she became famous for, via her character Audrey Horne.
ReplyDeleteAdrian Lyne directed 9 1/2 weeks
