Mary Kay Letourneau's Husband Files For Divorce
Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau are separating after 12 years of marriage—and 20 years after Letourneau was arrested for having sex with her then-12-year-old student. TMZ reports Fualaau filed for legal separation this month. An unnamed source tells People Letourneau, 55, and Fualaau, 33, have "been having issues for a while now" but are "still committed to being good parents to their children." Letourneau's attorney says the two "were totally in love," but "when one person is unhappy in the relationship, the other person can’t be happy either." The couple had been hosting "Hot for Teacher" nights together at a Seattle nightclub, the Seattle Times reports.
Letourneau first met Fualaau when he was in second grade. They started a sexual relationship in 1996 when Fualaau was in sixth grade and Letourneau was 34. Letourneau was arrested in 1997 after getting pregnant with Fualaau's child. She was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for second-degree child rape. She gave birth to their second child while still behind bars. Letourneau was released in 2004 and married Fualaau in 2005. She remains a registered sex offender.
"She was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for second-degree child rape. She gave birth to their second child while still behind bars. "
ReplyDeleteWait something doesn't add up, how could she have given birth to their second child while behind bars unless they were allowed conjugal visits?!!? Yet it reads they only got married when she was let out. Huh?
I never understood this relationship between these two.
ReplyDeleteBesides, it's none of my business. Oh, well.
Covfefe!
She hooked up with him immediately after she was released and went right back to jail again.
ReplyDeleteShe was pregnant when she went to jail. Despite orders to stay away from him, she talked him into hooking up, and she got pregnant.
ReplyDelete"Covfefe" is Russian for "I'm guilty."
ReplyDeletepresident macron of france and his wife brought this case back to light. at least he was 15, not 12, like vili fualauu. i feel sorry for this guy; his youth and early adulthood were stolen by a mentally ill (bipolar) adult. this is not "love", as the french argue. sorry, but there's no difference if the child is a boy or a girl. it doesn't matter if the teen was "mature" or "in love" or was the pursuer. the adult was ideating improperly and allowing feelings to develop that should have been squashed. they lacked basic impulse control and prioritized their biological urges over another person's right to a normal life. that's predation, pure and simple.
ReplyDeleteMary Kay is a pedophile, and should have been on parole after her release from jail. I believe she had three or four children with her first husband, who was a grownup.
ReplyDeleteThe last report I saw claimed that her first group of kids has completely disowned her, no surprise there.
This story has beeb disturbing on so many levels for years.
But I think the difference is that Macron did not have sex with his wife till he was of legal age in France. They did not marry till he met her later in life... well not MUCH later.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the mystery?
ReplyDeleteShe's 55
He's a 33 yr old
not getting laid anymore
Yeah, the official line on Macron is they didn't do anything until she was divorced and he was 18.
ReplyDeleteThe latest on this story is Mary Kay is trying to get the separation papers thrown out. She doesn't want a divorce. Duh! Did he think she was ever going to give him up? I knew a woman exactly like her back in the 80s and she ended up living in a mental health facility. She was a wealthy New Yorker. Her boyfriend/husband was her son's best friend. He was 15 when they met. After he graduated HS they got married and had two kids. Son never spoke to her again. Life is soooo complicated!
ReplyDeleteGee, they seemed like a match made in heaven. if these two crazy kids can't make it work, who can?
ReplyDeleteSo disturbing on so many levels. This woman should be in a mental health facility. And this young man lost his young teen/teen years.
ReplyDeleteRiiight
ReplyDeleteThis whole relationship is just disturbing. I feel bad for their children. They can't be normal or well-adjusted, and I'm sure the jokes/ridicule they will face as they age will be heartbreaking. There just comes a point where someone needed to lock this woman up in a psychiatric facility to get help. She's a pedophile, plain and simple. How this has been in any way accepted is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteThe latest is that he filed for legal separation because he wants to start a marijuana company in Washington state where it is legal. In order to get a license you can't have a felony on your record so he needs to separate from his wife to get the license. The implication being that they are still 'together',
ReplyDeleteso if his wife has a felony but he doesnt...he cant start a marijuana business? how does that even make sense? his wife's guilt means he cant do something? he isnt a felon
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThey met when he was in 2nd grade!
ReplyDeleteAn abomination!
Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but I feel uncomfortable if enty is reporting on them as "celebrities" or "personalities" here on CDAN. She/they may have tried to capitalize on the notoriety of their circumstances (Hot for Teacher nights), but I wouldn't want to aid them in that effort. Her actions (having sex with a 12-year old student) were unconscionable.
