Bond Girl Molly Peters Has Died

Former Bond Girl Molly Peters has passed away at age 75.

The announcement was made on the verified James Bond Twitter account on Tuesday. The cause of death is unknown.

Peters previously starred in the 1965 film “Thunderball” opposite Sean Connery. The Daily Express reported Peters was the first Bond Girl to remove her clothes on-screen.

The move not only sparked controversy, but several scenes involving Peters and Connery were ordered to be removed by The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) for being “too racy” for audiences.

The UK-based publication added that the English actress was discovered by filmmaker Terence Young.

“It was exciting for me and I was very nervous since I’d never actually been on a sound stage before,” Peters recalled. “In another corner of the studio, I saw this very tall, handsome man. And I remember Terence Young said to me, ‘Darling, of course you know Sean, don’t you?’ Well, I never met Sean in my life!”

Despite her fame, Peters still had trouble understanding the public’s fascination with her.

“Because I was blonde, I had a tan, and wore a white dress, people wanted to touch me,” she said. “I found that very strange. And I think it was because of the different coloring — I don’t know. Or perhaps, in their eyes I’d become something unattainable to them. I don’t know what it was.”
