This barely out of her teens A-/B+ list mostly television actress on a middling network show is on the edge of being recast in a huge remake because producers think she has gained too much weight.
It was already broadcast. Yes, a disaster. That being said when you are in a superficial business where looks are, at least, as important as skill then actors shouldn't be surprised or upset by this. In fact, viewers shouldn't either because as much as they might think it is awful this might be they probably wouldn't watch if actors not attractive as possible.
they should have waited until maddie ziegler was old enough for this role. would have meant waiting a couple of years, but people's standards for dancing are high thanks to dance moms and dwts, and she could have delivered.
I only watched the final number and her weight didn't bother me, but her terrible posture (and dancing) did. There is no way this girl was in dance training all summer. She probably didn't get fired because of the bad press the production would have gotten, but maybe she should have been....
She has gained some weight, but I think she looks healthy. Unfortunately Hollywood standards for health range from emaciated to super skinny for women. Anything above is a huge no unless you want to get cast as the fat friend or are a comedian a la Mindy Kaling.
Unfortunately for her she wasnt
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a good thing. This remake will be a disaster. What's next? A remake of Thelma and Louise? Stop it!!! No more reboots and remakes!!!

I don't watch tv so thank God I missed this. You can never replicate the original cast and charm.

ReplyDeleteWhat happened to her? she had so much promise.
ReplyDeleteShe's worked pretty steadily just not a lot of good movie roles for 16-20 yr old girls.
ReplyDeleteOh whatever, she has always been a little bigger than normal actresses, I don't think she gained any weight during that time.
