A few years ago my wife and I went to see Stevie Nicks and Blossom Music Center. I don't remember now how much we paid, but I suspect that that's the most either of us have ever put down. My wife thought she was great and well worth the price. I thought she was good, maybe a bit too high but not terrible.

I've pretty stopped going to big concerts because of the cost. If I want to hear live music I can pretty much always find a bar where somebody worth hearing is playing for little if any cover. Much more worthwhile.

  4. paid a lot to see Paul McCartney about ten years ago, 11th row. Worth every penny. He's so much smaller in stature/build than I ever imagined though.

$2500 Streisand, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and she was every bit as phenomenal as you would think. I was in the very front row at Barclay's and it was ALL LIVE, no lipsych which I was watching closely.

$400/a piece for 2nd row tickets for Prince. I thought I overpaid before the show. I was perfectly happy with paying that after seeing the show. Now that I know we will never see again, I consider it a bargain.

Eagles - year before Glenn Frey died. Front Row VIP tickets. Got a whole bunch of GOOD swag and dinner/wine before the concert. $1000 for the ticket.
Worth. Every. Penny. So glad I got to see them this close.

Previously, my record was 600 someodd dollars for a fifth row ticket to see a Sting and Peter Gabriel show last summer.

Last month I broke that record. I spent $1030 (including Ticketmaster fees) for a ticket to the upcoming Classic East concert at City Field. Eagles, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Journey and Earth, Wind and Fire.

    I regret nothing.

$90.00 to see Tom Waits in 1999. Yeah, I know I'm a cheap-a$$. That was a lot of money for me to spend on a concert and I was totally mesmerized.

Never paid for a concert, and I do not think I will ever go to one, now that Michael Jackson is dead, because his concerts had to be with a lot of fanfare, like u2 but not being a douche. If I want to listen to their music, I do it better at home, I do not like to be surrounded by sweating assholes, and no good group comes to this village, and visiting another one for a concert is stupid.

I will not correct my grammar because I have not time, if you did not understand, read again or forget it.

Boyzone (the Irish boyband). I needed the closure (my parents wouldn't let me see them in concert in the '90s because they thought I was too young and it was too dangerous—strangely, they let me see one of the members solo). So I went to see their reunion concert. Bought the ticket based on the seat I wanted without overthinking which class it was, like money was no object. The member my parents let me watch solo passed away (in ~2009) while I was traveling for work in the forests/wilderness, and my mother (who rarely does such a thing) actually phoned me about it! I think my father still thinks they're bad influence, but I bought it with all my own hard-earned money! LMAO.

My life is now complete. ♥

$100/ Oasis '96. Front row. Liam had security give me a backstage pass (I was cute and wearing a baby doll dress that you could apparently see right down the front of). Was privvy to the epic argument that was the beginning of the end of the band. Sigh.

Kermit, your grammar is just fine! It is understandable.

  24. Can't remember exactly, but it was less than $200 each for two Paul McCartney tickets. I'd have paid twice that much. For a 70-something guy, he puts on one hell of a show - and he sang for 2+ hours straight!

Oi! Awesome story. Speaking of outfits, for some reason, in my mind, I always remember Liam as wearing a Manchester United jersey. Which is hilarious because he's notoriously known to be an epic MUFC hater (and a City fan). LOL.

  28. $590 Duran Duran. Front row left, directly in front of John Taylor. It was my birthday. Best one ever. Zero regrets.

I feel like we paid $300 for our seats to see Bjork at Red Rocks front row. We always see her front row and it's WELL worth it.
Once, I paid $250 for 2 tickets to see the B52's and sold them on ebay for $1075. Man. I was so excited!

$6000 for 2 desert trip tx (oldchella) VIP even though no seats were that great. Kinda regret that $ BUT it was the concert of a lifetime w a bunch of folks who may not be here much longer: McCartney, young, Dylan, the stones, Yes, Roger Waters. Great concert, 3 days, got sick after but will never, ever forget it. What an experience!!
