Movie franchises make me ill, but I'll take old school Indiana Jones and Star Wars over anything they are doing with comic books today. Definitely not Fast and the Furious
Movie business is doing fans of fine art a favor by saving them money by not attending the crappy franchise comic strip movies they release 80% of the year.
The Godfather, Clerks, and Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad). These are short franchises (3, 2, and 2), but they are the ones with high quality in all of the movies.
The other franchises I can remember either have some crappy/not-good movies in them (James Bond, Star Wars, Dirty Harry, Lord of the Rings), or are straight dung (harry potter, fast furious, shadows of Grey).
Yes! I was doing to say "Star Trek", but then I remembered I've never seen a film (only watch the classic television versions up until the '90s productions).
I wasn't to keen on the Hogwarts-based "Harry Potter" films, but after they went all governmental, I got really excited about it!
But only when Sean Connery was Bond. Every other actor who has done the role who has been crap, as have the scripts. Once Connery left they should have just shut it down. Bond's era is loooooong gone.
The only good Star Wars movie was the first one, and then only in its original release. Once Lucas redid it with all the new footage he ruined it. And all the sequels are awful, including Return and Empire.
I'm really enjoying the whole Marvel universe. Ten years after my husband dragged me to see the first Iron Man movie, I now actually look forward to their movies coming out!
I liked The Fast and The Furious, but don't know which one it was. That's understandable, right, if you're talking with your gay grandfather, gay sister, trans cousin, etc. There's more to life than movie titles.
