Today's Blind Items - Casting Couch Madam

All the answers this week to the blind items are people who have never previously been an answer to a blind in the past decade.

I actually triple checked that I have never written about this actress in the past decade of the site. It kind of boggled my mind she never turned up for anything. It is not like she is obscure. When you land yourself an iconic television show, and its spin off, you are going to get some traction, even if it is in a supporting role. That wasn't even her best acting. Her best stuff was saved for a long running show where she even got some supporting actress wins and nominations. This is someone who has worked steadily for almost two decades and had good roles. Most of you would know her, at least to look at her, and she is way more than a character actress.

She is a good actress. The thing is though, for an actress she is getting up into those have to play a mom role years and that is not always her strong suit. So, how does she keep landing good roles? It turns out she has a very special gift. When she is around town, she is always introducing herself to aspiring young actresses. Whether it be at a restaurant or coffee shop, she is always saying hi and making connections. The women she follows up with are those she deems willing to trade some time on the casting couch for a role. She then introduces those women to producers or directors of projects of which she wants to be a part. Instead of offering her married self for the part, she offers someone else who gets a part for themselves and our actress gets her part. The only difference is that sometimes our actress has to find four or five women depending on how big of a role she is asking for in the show or movie.

A good guess, but the only part that doesn't quite fit... what was her 'iconic' role? And what was the spin-off that she landed on from that iconic role?

+1 This is a pretty solid guess. Lilith was certainly an iconic role, and even though she was more of a 'guest star' as Lilith on Frasier, that seems to work. Her background on Broadway would boost the 'more than a character actor' angle.

Thx@LiveYourLife... also says when she's "around town" or something to the effect(Bebe lives on the East Coast)

Not Bebe, unless you count Tony noms.
This part doesn't match: Her best stuff was saved for a long running show where she even got some supporting actress wins and nominations.
Which Enty says is not from the iconic roles.
Plus Bebe is NYC-based, I believe.
(She did pop into mind though from the iconic role from original and spin-off series, though.)

She has no Emmy wins or nominations

  16. Yep, and this "she is getting up into those have to play a mom role years". Bebe is 57.
The only people I can think of are in their 40's or 50's. This is someone much younger.

First thought was Jane Krakowski just b/c I could see her doing it, but Bebe fits best as the character actress who had a role in the series and it's spin off.

Does your blind say Emmy? Mine doesn't.

Outside of doing a hosting gig on Penn & Teller's "Fool Us" and a bit role in a forgettable movie, she hasn't exactly been very active since finishing "How I Met Your Mother." Not a bad guess, otherwise, as her 'better work' was probably on HIMYM than on the Buffy series and spin-off.

No but it does say she was an iconic character and works all the time currently.
Also doesn't mention being married with kids.Does your blind suggest something different?

Bebe isn't getting into mom roles, she's getting into grandmother roles.

  29. Julianna Margolis (sp). The Good Wife and the spinoff, The Good Fight.
Original long running show = ER

Aly had a Kindness blind revealed about her, a few years back. Running a shuttle service to help the homeless get to job interviews, IIRC.

Too bad, I rather like the imagery. :)
