Ryan Seacrest Brings His Talk Show Curse To Kelly Ripa
The good news for Kelly Ripa is that Ryan only fails when given a show solo. Since, Kelly will presumably never ever take a day of vacation, the life of Live With Kelly And Ryan should be OK. The bad news is that she has to sit next to Ryan and his hair and his juices five days a week.
Seacrest was announced as Ripa's new co-host on the ABC show Monday morning.
Before Seacrest came on stage, Ripa took a moment to thank her fans and her temporary “Live” co-hosts.
“Today, the next chapter of the ‘Live’ story is about to be written,” she said ahead of the announcement.
Numerous celebrities have filled in as co-hosts with Ripa over the past year, including Jerry O'Connell, Fred Savage and Andy Cohen.
“Thanks is not a big enough word but they took time out of their busy schedules and out of their day jobs… and they are part of the ‘Live’ family forever.”
I'm shocked she picked Ryan. Not because he can't do the job, but because I think he is going to swallow her whole. She should have picked someone she could beat into celebrity submission like NIck Lachey.
A choice so horrible I had to check my calendar to see if it was April 1. They are not kidding. Ugh. I can stand Kelly (faint praise indeed) but Ryan Seacrest makes my stomach turn. I will NEVER watch this show.
ReplyDeleteI thought O'Connell was a shoo in for the job. Can't believe Seacrest is going to leave WeHo and become a "Chelsea Queen". I give him one brutal NYC winter before he quits and moves back to warm and sunny LA.
ReplyDeleteTwo Diva's who love the spotlight and will be fighting for hair and make-up time....this should be fun!
ReplyDeleteSeacrest is mega rich because of the Kar-Trash-ians. Kelly will in the near future need a reality TV show to keep her relevant.
ReplyDeleteSince i don't watch daytime TV, I truly could care less WHO? was picked.
The reaction to this on Twitter has been a resounding "MEH." Kelly may have just acquired a co-host equally as annoying as herself.
ReplyDeleteI also think Seacrest will swallow her whole. Can't help but wonder if this was a management decision she may not have had control over.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide who is worse off here Seacrest or her? He's obviously done with prime time tv for now and she will have to deal with someone as insufferable as she is.
ReplyDeleteRyan would bring in more viewers than Lachey. The real question is, whose heels will be higher?
ReplyDeleteDon't own a telly, don't watch the show, don't like her, don't like him, BUT this is THE perfect match! Surprised they finally got something right on that show. They are adorable together.
ReplyDeletewho's dick did he suck to get that spot?
ReplyDeleteAgree. I actually think he is 'just passing through' though and doesn't plan on being there more than a year or two which is probably why she agreed to have him cohost. He has much bigger plans than cohosting a morning show. This move must fit into his plan of world domination some how.
ReplyDeleteShe's happy because of all buzz for her show and when he announces he is moving on to bigger better things she gets to go through this all again which she not so secretly loves.
ReplyDeleteI only watch when he takes the day off. Lol
