This former tweener actress turned adult singer wants her old franchise to have a reboot. In that, she wants to have a same sex, sex scene starring herself but the producers don’t want any part of that.
She wanted an R-rated Camp Rock sort of like American Pie because all the Camp Rock fans have grown up. Problem is Camp Rock is for kids and American Pie is old, tired and not funny or original now.
In a society seemingly becoming more sexually aware, I would think a production move like this would be prudent. So what? It's (another) remake. If a more important theme can be expressed through an old storyline, so much the better. The tracks are laid, just sparkle up that engine a little. Remakes have a place.
