Pitchfork-Apr 6, 2017 Yesterday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced that Neil Young would no longer be able to induct Pearl Jam into the Hall due to illness.
Eric Clapton doesn't have cancer. Take him off your list. He has Peripheral Neuropathy. He's complained his hands do not work like they used to and he's had back pain for years. Not cancer. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/news/the-disease-that-could-end-eric-claptons-career-why-musicians-fe/
He just had pneumonia and cancelled his tour. English stiff upper lip leads me to believe he wouldn't announce he has "cancer ", especially if he has cancer.
EC didn't cancel his tour. He canceled one date in L.A. due to bronchitis. He has three shows coming up in May in London and then back to NYC and LA in September for a few more shows. It wasn't a tour per se. And he wouldn't be scheduling concert dates in September if he was dying from cancer. Just sayin.
Having neuropathy doesn't preclude ALSO having cancer. In fact since certain cancer-treating drugs CAUSE peripheral neuropathy, the two could even potentially be related.
One would think that if Clapton had cancer so advanced his life expectancy were less than a year he'd probably be visibly ill and not scheduling concert dates 6+ months from now. Again being Devil's advocate, Clapton really is from that old "keep a stiff upper lip" and never talk about bad stuff English school.
I don't actually believe this blind, but as food for thought, David Bowie was working really right up until his death from liver cancer last year, and he even managed to hide it from many of his professional colleagues. Lemmy from Motorhead was so tough he worked until literally the very end, supposedly not being diagnosed with terminal cancer until two days before his death in 2015!
