Judging by the conversation a nurse overheard, I'm guessing at some point in the very near future, this former porn star is going to have to make a deal with multiple federal agencies to either cut a deal or go to jail.
Revealing ANY patient info is grounds for dismissal, not only HIPAA-protected info. The industry standard predates HIPAA. Nurse revealed personal info about a patient, including identity, which is knowledge acquired during performance of clinical duties at healthcare facility. Facility is liable.
