Your Turn

When you were in high school, did you ever have a teacher hit on you?

Back in HS during the dinosaur days, when I was writing on a cave wall, a teacher smacked my butt. Not hitting on me, now he'd be fired.

No, but one of my teachers, who was married to another teacher at the school, divorced him and married one of my classmates. And 2 other teachers left their positions amidst rumors they did students.

No, but I knew a female student and a male teacher who had an affair. This was back in the 1970s too. Quite long running and torrid. It was actually an extremely romantic story what happened to them, and a number of students helped them cover it up for quite a while. In the end it came out of course and he was fired, though not charged with statutory -- didn't do that back then. Shortly after she turned 18 they eloped and got married. I don't know where they are now but as of about 10 years ago they were still happily together.

Obviously the rare exception to what usually happens.

No, but my old swim coach tried to hook up with me when I was 17 and 34. I thought he was 25, which still would have been creepy. I ran into him at a bar about 5 years ago and brutally told him off til he was in tears

  7. No.
But I did have Nuns who (physically) hit me.
I am talking, open hand slap in the face. The nun said my mother had given them permission to hit me "if I deserved it."
When I got home, I asked my mom if she had done that.
She said I probably deserved it.
My relationship with my mom has never been the same.
(Years later, my mom did apologize to me for allowing that to happen.)
Still, our relationship never was the same.
Such lack of respect for her own children.

YES. It was extremely embarrassing. Normally in Grade 11 English MacBeth was studied (and I was really looking forward to that). He changed it to Othello because of the sex. In one class he asked me if I knew what "the beast with two backs" was. Everyone giggled when I said no, so I figured it out then. Another time we were reading Gulliver's Travels. It came to the part where the Lilliputians parade between Gulliver's legs and they look up to see there's a rip in his pants. The whole time Mr. McCaffrey (IDGAF because he was an asshole) described that they would see his giant balls hanging down, he stared at me the whole time. These are just two examples. He did it quite often. I never said anything about it until my brother asked who my English teacher was. When I told him, he was shocked. Turns out he was at the same school a few years prior then "summarily dismissed" because he was harassing a female student.

Good Lord, NO. They were (and are) even uglier than my current coworkers. I would have loved that this teacher at university hit at me (and then we made every heterosexual thing after that) though.

I did have a ( female) teacher at one of my highschools who was married to a former student of hers. They got married after he graduated and turned 18. At that point, in my time, they have been married for a few years now.

Went to Catholic Girl's Schools where the Sisters of Mercy (all of them from Limerick, Ireland) were already senile by the time I got there. Sister Mary Menopause and Sister Mary Alzheimer were in their late 70's. The only thing they 'hit' on was my knuckles. All the priests were gay so I had no problems during my school years.

No . The,teacher that was considered "cool" knew who he could seduce.. He tried to hit on my cousin and told his bald ass off. He ended up resigining after impregnating another. Old class mates are actually friends with the old pervert on facebook. And he eas not a priest..lived with his parents...

Yes. When I was in 12th grade, my English teacher asked me out before the semester ended, because I soon would no longer be his student. I was 17 and he was 36, married and had two kids.

    I turned him down.

Yes. I was wearing shorts and sitting on a stool in the science lab. My biology teacher put his hand on my knee and let his fingers "walk" up my thigh. I smacked his hand, then his fingers "walked" all the way back down. My friend and I reported it to the dean but she blew it off.

  19. same (for "talking back"); and they did worse to other kids too. It is one of those things that never truly leaves you, so long as there is the memory of it.

  20. I had a teacher who left his wife for a student (about five years ahead of my time). I believe they're still together to this day, some 30 years later, assuming he's still alive. He never lost his job, either.

  21. No, but I definitely flirted with a couple teachers lol we had some young ones. There were some rumors that a student teacher had sex with one of the guys in my class that I thought wasn't true that I just found out was a pretty badly kept secret. For what it's worth, it was after he graduated I think.

  23. When I was 16, I went to an intensive language institute at UC Santa Cruz. One of the professors (not in the institute but a regular at UC Santa Cruz) came on to me (Enty, we call it molestation). His name was Mishael Caspi.

No but I also went to an all girls Catholic school for the first 2 years and then begged my mom to let me go to the public high school. Never heard about any students involved with teachers. College was a different story.
