We all die in the end.
ReplyDeleteHomey is 59 and survived the streets, he can survive whatever his lifestyle is now. When my Dr. told me to cut back I said OK and kept on doing what I was doing. That was 7 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIce-T? "A--list"?
ReplyDeleteIce CUBE would be A-List.
Well, my doctor several years ago said something like this to me. I decided then, I was going to take the bull by the horns.
ReplyDeleteAnd, here we are, several years later, I've lost 42 pounds, my blood pressure is way down; and i am feeling healthier than I have had in a long time.
If Ice T doesn't want to take his doctor's advice, that's fine with me.
I don't care.
Sadly, all I did was start counting my daily calorie intake and tried to stay at or below the preset set amount base on my weight goal.
I am +/-2 lbs from the goal.
Probably thinks drugs and bullets haven't killed him yet, a heart won't.
ReplyDeleteSorry.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean to pat myself on the back.
Just celebrated my 61st birthday with a steak dinner.
I mention this just so most of you know, that changing wasn't that drastic to me.
@david Congratulations!
ReplyDeletego david! congratulations! ice t should do the same. not caring about his health when he has a new baby means some serious problems in his soul, imho.
ReplyDeleteYay, David! Good for you! I know changing your lifestyle is the most difficult thing in the world. I gave up coffee for a year back in '95 (on a bet) and was in bed for three days with withdrawal symptoms. My head was exploding! Lasted the year, collected the $$$$, and went to the nearest Starbucks in San Francisco! I, too, am really watching the calories now. 75 in two weeks. Instead of eating the cupcake, I just rub it all over my hips, 'cause that's where it ends up! Good for you!!! Rave on!
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't in the street as much as you think he was. He mainly rapped about what he saw or his homeboys went through.
ReplyDelete"Fix my eating habits, I have a new baby and I could live longer to be around longer for my kid? Nah, *&^# that noise."
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who would like to hear/see ice t say F off? I mean I want him to live but god I love his edge when he talks!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I would like to hear him say that. Has he done any of those "read something" videos?
ReplyDeleteI found it inspiring. I have the biggest challenge with portion since I eat pretty healthy, maybe if I give it another try it might take. Congrats on the weight loss and birthday steak.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations David! You are unique. You proved you could meet a goal. There are people in the club, who you know their doctor scared them into exercising. Most don't last more than a couple of months, then they're back to the buffet line.
ReplyDeleteThat's great David. Keep up the good work.. We all have issues but ignoring Doctors advice is not good. People start having heart attacks and strokes in their mid to late fifties. It's not about body shaming but being healthy.
ReplyDeleteHis actual reply was:
ReplyDelete"But Popeye's Chicken is fucking awesome!"
