Blind Item #9
It always cracks me up when this A- list east coast politician pretends to be a ladies man. At this point, I'm not sure who he thinks he is fooling by being in the closet.

Cory Booker
ReplyDeleteEnty, why are you stealing blinds from us? Cory Booker , spoken about during the Mindy Kaling reveal, he asked her out on Instagram or Twitter.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump?
ReplyDeleteCory Booker is going to be A++ very soon!
ReplyDeleteUgh
ReplyDeleteThis would kind of surprise me unless it is a recent transition. I used to work with a long time gf of his before he was mayor.
ReplyDeleteMarco Rubio? I do not know that cory booker.
ReplyDeleteTim Kaine?
ReplyDeleteI have just known that tom perez is married with a female and has sons.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a couple of interviews of him, and I always thought he was a second f word.
How is this a blind? Who doesn't know this?
ReplyDeleteLindsey Graham.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good guess along with Cory Booker!
ReplyDeleteCorey Booker, but I don't think he pretends to be a ladies man.

I felt kind of sorry for mindy when she replied enthusiastically....does she...not know he is gay?
Corey Booker is so gay Queerty a gay website has written about this a lot. I agree with Enty.
ReplyDeleteCorey Booker is most definitely gay. ( heard this rumor waaaaay back when)He is also a fantastic politician with a heart of gold. Several gay politicians were elected in the south this year even with the demonic orange Putin lover being elected. Corey would be supported as an out politician and it pains my heart to see him trying to lie. I really hope he doesn't go the George Clooney route.( sadly he probably will).
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to have people like you represent you in government.
ReplyDeletethat everyone "knows" that Cory is gay, yet everyone ignores the one comment closes to "true" knowledge about someone who actually claims to have known a long-time girlfriend of his….Hmmm
ReplyDeleteI have also heard the rumors, and was in college at the same time as he was, before there were any. He went on one date with a friend of mine, but never followed up (she would have been interested).
I know you guys always say that people "plant" fake info. to contradict stories, so maybe the person claiming to know the old gf is one of those, but I find it funny that we are so quick to believe we "know" the truth regarding people we have never met. I don't care whether he is or not. And maybe the rumors have come about from people who do have first-hand experience. And maybe you can't trust anyone who posts.
From all accounts he is a tremendous human being, and if the gay rumors (or truth) diminish odds of him achieving anything in politics, it would really be a shame. Not sure America is open-minded enough yet, though, to overlook a gay politician in the places he is rumored to be a possibility for...
Not Cory - I know three women he has hooked up with
ReplyDeleteIf anything he's a hetero player
I could care less if he was gay or straight or
Sexuality means nothing
Lindsey graham is clearly gay yet super closeted and super right wing
Patrick Murphy?
ReplyDeleteYou mean the guy who killed the cheap drugs bill because big pharma paid him? One of those dems responsible for trump.
ReplyDeleteEvery gay man I'm friends with fucked girls in high school or had a girlfriend. Every single one. When every single commercial, movie, song on the radio is heterosexually oriented, coming to terms with ones sexuality in that type of stifling environment can be very difficult for people. Some guys don't admit they're gay even to themselves until their thirties or forties because being straight or perceived as straight is just easier sometimes, I think. So whenever I read but he fucked girls in high school or college!!!!! He can't be gay! I laugh and laugh and giggle because it's funny.
ReplyDeleteOK. I don't have tons of gay friends, but certainly know of some who, yes, did sleep with women prior to full, committed gay life. But to be fair to Mr. Booker, if I'm reading correctly, we have no one who has posted that they (or someone male that they know) has slept with him. We do have posts to the contrary, whether fake or not.
ReplyDeleteAnd it is worth mentioning as a possibility, since there's also been lots of buzz about his political potential, that gay rumors would be an easy shot to take at a single (and liberal) politician--with the intent of poisoning any future election to a bigger "office."
Also, as a long-time single person, I know that gay rumors come up just because you're not married/co-habiting and above a certain age. I don't think I'm gay, and haven't dated a woman ever, but there still have been those who have put it out there. And I have no kind of media attention that would naturally increase the talk, as is the case with Booker. (Plus, he has a brother, Cary, who I'm guessing still works with him, to have as a confidant and strategy planner.)
ReplyDeleteThis also brings up a couple of questions in my mind that I think are interesting. If you have never had a homosexual relationship or encounter, can someone (other than yourself) really definitively say you are gay?
And aren't there people known as "asexual," for whom sex isn't that important, or they choose to not pursue it (e.g. Catholic priests--in the theoretical sense…not the gay ones that later act out…) in lieu of a *higher calling*?
Cory has dedicated himself to public service, which is a very time-intensive, life-dominating pursuit. Not only the job, but also getting ready/planning/fundraising for the next campaign. If you don't already have a SO, maybe no time to get one--and you need one who will be committed to the cause, since that's the life you lead. AND you can't afford a broken marriage, especially for the highest office.
Not so easy to create that SO situation, if you didn't have it in place before you got into the political game. So maybe you make that sacrifice and just leave that area behind, because you feel that your calling seems to demand it. Certainly being a slut doesn't help your career, although I guess it didn't really hurt the Kennedys, if reputation is any indicator (but then again, they were already married…).
Besides, I don't think Cory comes from money, and I don't know how well the congressmen who don't turn into lobbyists do financially. So what woman (or man) wants a relationship with someone who probably won't put them first, has less time for them than a regular person, couldn't be an involved parent for the same reasons, isn't very financially secure, and wants to live and breathe politics all the time? Only someone else who wants to live and breathe politics, and doesn't care too much about wealth--and is willing to have no kids or to do a lot of solo parenting.
This is why there are political couples, e.g. The Clintons, or "old fashioned" couples, e.g. Bushes, Reagans, where the wife does nothing but support the husband (and there's already some money for comfort/security). There's maybe some Washington glamour involved as a political wife, but not the same as Hollywood parties/money/celebrity, no spin-off reality show or acting career benefits (Hello Hilaria?!). So I would think it's a bit of a hard sell. I don't think a regular woman would be very interested….in the way that rock stars and actors get women lining up around the block.
But I don't know Washington, so probably there are political "groupies" as well...
